do GM's really care? do they really do anything??? or are they just there for no reason at all?
last night a few LS members and I were farming. an hour or so into farming, a few chinese gilsellers show up. as most of the time, i get the claim. and the same thing happens for a couple times.
1: we get the claim
2: we engage in battle, start fighting the mob
3: gilsellers pull other mobs around us (that agro)
4: the gilseller that has the hate then warp/escapes out, thus leaving us with agros from all around.
5: we have no choice but to sleep the agros.
6: from this, somehow we lose our claim for a split second off of our mob
7: the gilsellers provoke/chi' blast/flash our mob and we lose it, but the hate is still on us.
8: we escape, this because we cant do anything else anymore.
from this, we just wasted a couple hours for NOTHING. and it seems like everything we camp there are gilsellers/bots running about doing the same thing. we call a GM on this incident, not just once, but a couple times. from one of the GMs, they say:
1: We'll look into this further
2: Since the mobs didnt kill you, its not considered "MPK"
What i'm trying to say is, do they even care??? this is one of the main reasons why SE has lost so many players. Will they ever do something about it? As the majority of us all are, we're sick and tired of this and should do something about it. But whats there to do? Report it to a GM? Been there, done that. Nothing happens. My opinion, SE needs to get off its lazy behinds and do something about this. It ruins my gameplay and respect for their company and their GM's.

Well no offence but there is only so much they can do. like ban majorly reported people ^^.
An example though:
A janitor at a school gets called to the Restrooms (Bathrooms)
all the time because the little boys "point and miss" hitting the wall. Are they going to be in any hurry to clean the wall again ? err wait this made sent when i thought it out....

I have a theory ,, SE = GM = Gil Seller :( so you know they aint gonna do any thing about it:(.. like how many time have we report those gil seller? and have they did anything about it? seriously when they banned 800+ accounts last time.. did they really banned them??
I highly doubt that SE carries out its own gilselling, though with the way companies work nowadays I wouldn't be surprised.
But SE does turn a blind eye in most cases cause all these gilseller and bot accounts are sending them more rl money. And they're definitely thinking in the short term... more than happy to make a little bit of extra revenue but they're not thinking in the long term of how many real players will eventually get fed up and quit, heading over to new games like WoW. And when that happens the gilsellers will eventually dwindle as well and then SE won't be making any profit off of FFXI

Yeah, if you have a whm with you, or one you can call for a raise, you have to let them kill you for a GM to go after them for MPK... I had a player almost kill my party by dragging a bomb-dropping gob to us & hiding... but since we lived, there wasn't much the GM could do (so they said).

Only thing I can think of when they say they can not do anything is if someone owns a buisness, aren't they allowed to deny service to anyone, regardless of reason? If a store thinks you are stealing, won't they make you at least leave, without proof or further explaination? If SE was as concerned with gil sellers as they would like us to believe, wouldn't they have done something by now? It's not like it's rocket science or anything to find out who is violating the TOS. It is pretty obvious who the gil sellers are. I know it is a "The man is keeping me down" type theory, but since SE claims gil selling is almost like stealing, why do they keep letting themseleves get ripped off if they didn't have a hand in it?

I think it's time the GM system became more open and transparent. I think half the problem is the GMs 'seem' to be doing nothing because of the policy of not reporting back with what action they took.
Now, in RL generally, if you report a crime you eventually have some way of finding out what the outcome was, even if no action was taken.
Maybe this would present it's own set of problems but I feel that if GMs were able to tell players what, if any, action had been taken concerning a report they made then it might go someway to improving the GMs image.

I really think it depends on the GM how the handle the situation. when I was lvling my whm thru the jungles some ******** galka *generalsomethingorother* and some other guy that i have never seen were getting buffed by an uber high SMN and they were running from zone to zone training gobs and killing people left to right, at least 5 people including myself were calling the GM's and of course we got the infuriating generic "I dont give a rats a$$" response which really made me wonder why SE even pays these schmucks.
Later deep in Gustav tunnel I was lvling my whm in the 50s and 2 lvl 60s and 1 70 we hunting the gob NM in there(SMM,DRK & RNG) now...I helped the DRK looong ago get his AF in Ordelles. I was in a mostly JP party and we were killing nonstop with no DT and no rdm (NIN taru tank) the Drk died so the SMN and RNG began text flooding me for a r2 (The SMN is also a 60something whm) I ask my party if we can take a break to do this and they say no. (JP had set party times and wanted to get as much done as possible - they also knew the SMN was a high lvl whm) I told the SMN & RNG no. Again they flood me offering gil *which I take as an insult, I will tele you and raise you for free so long as I am available but I am not a gilslut* I again tell them no so then the SMN begins cussing and both he & the RNG shout that they are going to MPK the party, the RNG begins aggroing a bunch of stuff and luckily gets too hurt to make it to us.
I contacted the GMs and spoke with {GM}Chigrrl and she(I assume is a she) got all the information and within 2 hours the SMN is gone, the RNG is elsewhere(jail?) and the Drk is being watched (I only know this because his friend is my parties blm - she was a tad upset they were doing this)apparently the smn ended up on a 36 hour ban.
My linkshell kicked an MPking BST, I liked him and I understood that at 14 your gonna do some stupid things but I wasnt going to overstep my sackholders authority - I made them sackholders for a reason. The BST was invited to party his rdm in a group getting a pwr lvl, he took a bit longer then they liked to get to them so the disinvited him and he changed to his BST and train killed the party several times...the pwr lvler was one of my sackholders a 62 RDM that had pwr lvld the BST when he was stuck in his 40s. He called a GM and the BST I guess was banned for a few days.
2 of my linkshell mates have been in "Jail" for cussing. Benediction ls website has pictures of what jail looks like.
If you cuss you will get in trouble immediatly but MPking seems to depend on which GM you get.Gilselling, I have yet to see a gilseller busted but I have seen FishBotters be disconnected by GMs.
