has anyone noticed the large amount of gil beggers that hang around near auction houses? do these people go through the trouble of constantly making a new character so they can respam AH shoppers daily?

I know...I don't get it -.- Even my lvl 1 naked mule got begged....it's seems so illogical..:/ they cant really be making more gil then if they farmed it...and farming can be stress releaving

A while back there was someone in Sandy who apparently was asking anyone that was anon. Cause my mule was asked, then I loged into the the game on Reli and he was asked about 45 seconds later.

It's kinda obvious when you send someone a tell as a level 1 char that you know enough about the game to run a search to get their name (they were not targetable to me) and then send a tell. But I guess enough people fall for it and give them enough money that they keep doing it.

And it's almost always a Mithra... Which makes me laugh...

You know I don't understand why ppl beg ether. Now if someone in my ls is short on buying say new armor then I will let them borrow the gil. but it's like said before, they spend more time begging then farming and they'll make more money faster farming. Oh well the entertainment of the stupid ppl... gotta love it.

Well a simple fact is that most people dont know how to farm. Then the other is that they are lazy. Maybe someone should post a farming guide. ^^

I had someone give me a /t and ask "can I borrow 100k", I figured it was a friend on a mule or something so I asked "do I know you?" and I got the nice reply of "no but I'll pay you back" so I laughed at them.

I hate being /t'd for gil...asking questions about how to do something or just help in general is fine but not asking for gil or items or whatever. Although if I see a tarutaru with a /s about them dancing for donations and their dance is good...THEN I'll donate because it's a cute thing....ugh can't believe I said cute...a guy that looks like a freaking galka saying something is cute....I'm definately sick.

I'm hit up often, people think 61 RNG/NIN must = moutnains of gil to spare or something. Some have even said flat out "But you're a Ranger, you MUST have money!"

Nope, I HAD money..... ;)

Usually if they ask for small amounts ( a trend I see more and more, they need 15-100 gil because they are "short" for a new item to level with) I will tell them I'll give them 5x what they are asking for, but they will have to do something for me that takes 15 minutes of their time and they will never have to pay me back.

Usually the smart ones go off on me about making them 'work' for a loan.

The stupid ones actually ask me what it is and sometimes actually DO it. I just tell them I'll give them 100 gil for each wind or fire crystal them bring me, and an extra 500 if they bring a whole stack of either. So 1700 a stack..

At that point I usually get a load of rather foul crap about how those crystals sell for twice that or more in the AH, how I'm trying to rip them off, how I'm stealing from them, etc.....to which I just reply "My point exactly"

LOL I am sooooo going to have to try that!!
Farming guide = go out and kill stuff....setup a bazaar. I like to hunt sheepies, dhamals, lizzies, skins & bunnies and setup my hubbys mule shotglass by the leatherworking guild. its slow but it adds up. Ill go excavating and setup shop outside the bonecraft guild...that was profitable till I took up bonecraft...and..like a drug usin drug dealer...I was broke.
I havent become a taxi yet but I suppose that would be a good way to earn gil of course then everyone would call you agil seller. I have tried hunting NMs but I dont have the patience and I just dont get the drops anymore. I like farming Maze of SHakrami, Tahrongi canyon, Konschat Highlands (make sheepie wool sell stack for like 10k+) I dont make millions in a day but on a good day I can pull 80,000-130,000. Ive only successfuly done bcnm50s in windy (pick a treasure box woohoo) but im told that has changed bleh.

You know its strange... I've had my fair share of low-level beggars but just the other day I had an Elvaan PLD in what looked like AF sending me a /tell essentially asking for gil i.e. for me to 'help him buy something'. Didn't make sense since he was standing right next to me at the AH.

I hope this doesn't carry on... I don't have enough blist slots :P
