About a week ago I ran into this guy named Tearu. I know him because he's a player named Narina's boyfriend (perhaps that's a lie too). She was nice so I figured (silly me) that her bf would be nice too. He asked me for 50k and that he could borrow and return the next day, I thought "Eh, I kinda know him, this should be ok." Needless to say I wasn't a very intelligent taru. Asked him where the money is and made up this whole gigantic lie about someone taking his account/using his character etc. After enough "convincing" he said he'd pay back, still waiting...I'm pretty sure its gone; and I'm not on enough to get on his case unfortunately. Pretty dumb on my part, Just warning others to stay away from this guy, he's quite deceitful, beware.

I have only given money to two people in the game. One, I know personally and he gave me some gil when I first started the game. The second guy has been really nice, helped me alot, gave me a pearl to his LS, and helped PL me quite a lot. I gave him money to help him buy some armor for his WHM and told him that he didn't have to pay me back cause of all the times he helped me. But he paid me back about a week later anyway. I won't give money out to people that I don't know, or even people the I "kinda know". So while I kinda fee bad for you, I also, kinda don't.

i wouldnt give gil to anyone unless they were in my LS...or if i knew them in RL.

I hope you get it back, with interest and an apology. But I wouldn't count on it.
Don't be shy about politely saying No to loan requests. I mean, if someone is a friend who has saved my butt in the game and vice versa, I figure they're not going to redeem that comradeship and trust for a paltry 50k or 100k gil. But if I'm still forming an impression of someone -- even if it's thus far a GOOD impression (for bear in mind that con men try to "get on your good side" before they hit ya up for gil) -- I will say no.
This is familiar territory for me because I am something of an unofficial LS "quartermaster": I lend my Bronze and Mahogany beds, and my Field gear if I'm not using it, to LS members ... but not LS members who just joined! :)

Good idea....execpt the 50k idea. You might as well plan not to see that gil again. but as someone said you could be paitent. I say do both. maybe he will pay you back maybe not.
I usually don't mind giving out small amounts of gil to anyone who seems like they genuinely need it. I remember one guy couldn't afford a chocobo so I just gave him 100 gil, lol. But yeah.. I would never lend out a large amout to anyone whom I don't know well. If there's anything I learned from gaming online it's to trust no one ^^;

this taru was in san d'oria today giving away LS pearls....
YES ! that was the scary thing. i heard him calling for members to join his ls. i laughed really hard and told my friend i was helping at the time bout it.

Tearu is in my LS (Dojang) At least, he was. I'm not very sure as to how he managed to do that, but I thought he was a nice guy. I'll talk to him about the 50K he owes you, and if he refuses to pay it, I'll kick him from our LS. He said he had something like a million on him. Meaning I had better ask him what he knows.

Yea i was in his ls stupid me >< little ***** but i think he might have left his ls broke and he hadn't been on for ages before tha.
sounds like <b>BADER</b> he still owes my DRG buddy DUb gil from when dub helped himw ith stroper..DUb voked and killed stroper and Bader had swore hed split the gil , we all saw it sold for 400k and Bader had 100 diff excuses ranging from "I paid him" to "I wont pay till he stops spreading rumors that I didnt pay him" DUb is a really sweet guy, he helps total strangers for free...he's just an all around sweet guy. Its sad that there are higher level people in this game that lack integrity
