Well, I finally hit level 40 (yes I've been playing since March 22nd and I FINALLY hit level 40)the only problem is this: I'm suffering the level 40 blues. Leveling takes forever, and while waiting for parties (long time for me to get a party sometimes hours) I have nothing to do, I don't have the money to start up crafting, no one wants me for special events like promyvion or garrison, and with the fact that my expensive things are soon coming and that the economy is as solid as jell-o, it's just plain frustrating trying to make money. It's like someone just flipped the fun switch off, I don't want to quit for fear of regretting, yet I just don't see any fun left in the game, what should I do?

Sometimes when I'm bored with everything I just head out and explore a zone. Not necessarily one of the more dangerous ones. There's just so much to see in this game. If you're bored with farming this is a good thing to do while lfp and as you're a blm just type in your search comment where your hp is.

To get some fairly easy money try mining in palborough or yughott. I'm not sure what it's like there anymore but it used to be decent. Use the money from the mining and level cooking a bit, you'll basically make money by leveling.

If you lack a decent LS one thing could be to look through these boards and see which LS's that are looking for members and get into contact with those people. Even though they are not accepting more members at the moment you might make some friends even so.

pffft you think 40 sucks? try 51+ 10k tnl takes forever and gets even worse 55+ when its 20k tnl then 60 its 30k and 70 its a ******* 40k. SE was really smoking when they made the TNLs and the xp not even go up. SE was the ones who turned off the fun ;)

i think he had a good idea with mining. I find it entertaining running around and just seeing different things. Palborough and such could be profitable and at 50 you can move to gusgen where it is fairly easy to make gil. I can pull 20k out of gusgen fairly easy in an hour. Not the greatest but hey i'm a whm and tele'ing is boaring =). Try finding an enjoyable ls that you like to talk to it helps pass the time LFP.

pffft you can't complain til the 50s.. that's the suckiest 10 levels. G1 [&G2 to a lesser degree], and artifact.. the most painful **** ever unless you have a ls full of high levels willing to help you.

I personally quit at lv 64. It's really just one big level grind. But I have to say once you hit level 60 with full AF armor you feel such a great sense of accomplishment. But if you are looking for something else to do you could try upping your rank. It was always a nice diversion for me anyways.

Hopefully you'll start getting enjoyment again soon. Level 40 and up is where I started getting to meet some of the people who have since helped me enjoy my experience again.

Exploring is definately a good idea to do when you are bored. I do that all of the time when I need a break from leveling. There are so many zones you just sort of run through to get to a place to level that you never take the time to find the cool things in it.

And crafting doesn't have to be expensive. You can start out on cloth for free by getting a lower level job and farming earth and wind crystals and yag bead necklaces.

I totally disagree with the mentality that the 50's suck. IMO those are the most fun levels you get in. You get to do all the AF quests and coffer hunts and you are beginning to get most of your abilities and really start to learn what your job can do.

I dont like the people that always beg for help with coffer keys and help for their AF mobs and when 70+ jobs dont help they complain. I went through this with no help from anyone over 65 the whole time and that was for my AF3 NM. It so much more fun and challenging to do G1 with your friends who are the same level as you and the same for your AF NMs. How boring it must be for me and a a few 70+ friends of mine going to destroy your AF NM. Basically we're handing it to you and it has to make it feel cheap and not like you had to work for it. I helped out with drg AF3 NMs the other day and I swear I could solo these mobs. We went in with a pt of 6 where all were 68+ except for the 59 drg and it was just boringly easy.

Just dont look at the game as "I cant ever get a pt" or "no high levels will help me get my AF". Just think abbout how it was when they had the level capped at 60 and people were doing AF with jobs their level. Just go out and have fun and explore and challenge yourself. As for exp parties if you're having trouble try lfg while crafting or farming, start your own pt, and/or make some friends and form a static or semi static.

I can see where you are coming from. I personally went through hell getting all of my AF too. I had to assemble an 18 person alliance for my AF3 in Davoi. It took 7 hours to get the party assembled and 90 mins to actually do it. I think the real problem is not people complaining about lv 70+ helping them it's about anyone helping them at all. Really there's nothing in it for anyone but the person who needs their AF.

Some jobs, the AF is just too hard for that level unless if you can get a full alliance, and the problem is, people aren't always willing to help if there is nothing in it for them. So I guess people figure if they are going to have to pay someone for help with AF, they are going to pay someone a higher level then them who can guarantee them a win.

I'm still waiting to get all of my friends together at the same time to finish my AF.

But I did get high level help with my robe AF. I was not about to subject friends my level to the hell that is the Temple and when some of my higher level friends said they'd take me, I jumped on it.

But truth be told, I don't find coffer hunting fun at all, so if a higher level friend says I'm bored, let's go get your key and coffer, I'll do it. Now the nm fights are a blast. I have 2 more to do to get my horn and I will love for my set to go with me. But coffers, get me in and out as quick as possible. Running around zones that I'm way too low of a level for without a map hoping I find something and knowing I'm screwed if sneak or invisible wear off at a certain time just isn't fun to me.

No imo, 50-60 was one of the more boring periods of the game for me. I hate af coffer hunts, if I see another robber crab I'm going to puke and well, summoner just doesn't get that many new toys. Meteorite at 55 and the IV magics at 60 (which is quickly becoming the most fun I've had) we about all I got to see, while my friends were getting cool new spells or cool new weapon skills.

At 60, I was able to do the avatar fights and those were a blast. There is just so much I was looking forward to that I had to be 60 to do, that the grind that is 50-60 didn't bother me enough to say I'm giving it up, though we did lose a few friends during that. AF was the cause. Again, not all jobs are easy to do. SAM NM fights are a cruel joke.

But for those who love the coffer hunts and stuff, 50-60 is going to be the best part of the game. And there are plenty who love doing that. (another reason why I'm not that big on it, my af pretty much sucks stat wise)

But to Ryan, it does get better. You just have to find ways to mix things up and get out of the grind so you don't burn yourself out.

Personally I found the game got fun after 40... Partially cause of the people I've met and partially cause I can run around in lots more places now. Hitting 50 just opened up more places to explore cause I got sneak and invis back. I have to admit I wish there were more different looking mobs instead of something having a slightly different color or something else like that. It would make the level grind a bit more fun.

I'd say to stick with it for a while, things should get more fun.

Yes if you are boried with level 40 then welcome to the club..when I was there with a drk...I had no LS to pass the time...I thought it was level, farm, level, farm...Well I am currently level 58 (39998xp to 60) yeppie...lol

I have since found a LS that I like and get questions answered, coffer hunts weekly, Rank quests, job quests...always something to do...I usually level bout 1-2 nights a week..or like I have been for the last 2 weeks going from 53-60 so I can get guillotine...I still have to go back and get my AF gear but have all but one coffer...

As u get higher U can go on Skill up parties...I know I went to Castle Oz....and capped my scythe and drk magic there..no deaths got my coffer for my AF and to got some badass blm spells..worth like 100k+...not complaining...I made like 500k that night.. :) then went out and bought haubergeun the very next day...

I have also made a lot of new friends during this time point as well..

If you really get boried you can join me NM hunting...

But stick with it..you will get there..

Heh I put my drk on hold at the moment because of the partying situations... LFP in jeuno walking around and doing nothing >.> for hours. I just got into Red Mage since I have always wanted too when I first laid my eye's on this game. So anyway I say if you get bored stop that job lvling put it on hold... Few days/weeks later comes right back to you. If you just want to lvl and not stop that job then who knows mmhhh maybe just make your own partys.

My 2 cents...

p.s If you don't like it please give my gil back... I need to buy MP gear :P j/k
