A night in the jungleFollow

Ok, sorry to create a new thread as such a new poster, but this really got to me.

So im in yhu<tab> jungle tonight, and our party leader is a blm taru level 30. Zippie (remember that name, he's an asshat) is the leader, and without warning he goes afk in the middle of a fight. no message or anything. So after 15 minutes, we disband and reform without him, no big deal. About an hour later he's *still* standing there and I, in my finite inteligence, acidently aggro a gob and it levels everything an a 4 mile radius including the AFK Zippie. Well about 20 minutes later I get a tell from him asking for a raise. I cant say my response was the most pleasant *along the lines of youre gonna have to wait, we're fighting at the moment and you screwed us over and tried to leech exp, so youre not my highest priority*, but I was gonna have our whm raise him when we were done with our fight. Almost instantly he sends me a string of obsenities limited only by the /tell lengths and also tells me that he didnt go afk, but that his internet crapped out and he'd just gotten back on. Now of course all this was after the entire party had been fighting right next to his imoble character for more than an hour. Had he disconected, it would have disapeared. Even if it hadnt, theres no possible way to log into a dead body, such as he said he did. Ive tried, youll log back in at your HP *or at least I did, i could be wrong in other cases*. Anyway, he goes further to /tell every member of the party, cussing at them and threatening to mpk them. Lets just say he's on a few more blacklists than the begining of the night.

Either way, the moral of the story is, since we're all ragnarok players and we all see eachother ocasionally on the server, if you see Zippie runnin around, he's an asshat. Avoid him. ^^

I had a party in the first jungle with a mithra named Kejo I think. I would go to pull and they would go AFK with out telling anyone so it became a 5 person fight with a leech. I was the party leader so I asked if it was fine that I kicked Kejo out because it had been 5 minutes and one of the party mates said to wait... they come back and for about 15 minutes everything is fine with them and I until they went AFK again without saying anything so I say wait for them again. The player that said to wait the first time said yeah, 5 minutes pass no Kejo The person that kept wanting me to wait for them then says whats going on, how long are we going to wait? So I said you're the one that told me to wait... I kicked Kejo and we got another player. Party goes well until about 25 minutes pass, when one of the main DDs is spazing out into the wall. By now the leadership power had gotten to me and I had had it with people getting exp without doing any work so I kicked them out and became a 4 person party. >.> Don't you love story time?

Forgot parts...
Kejo just stood in the same spot for a hour until we started fighting goblins and they threw their bombs and 1/2 killed them. Someone zoned a Goblin and it moves away from kazham zone line to Kejo and kills them. Guhh something else I was going to say too and I'll remember right agfter I post I bet.
--Edit posted and then remembered lol I saw Kejo running around in the city and they were a RNG now. So I guess it works out for their new parties now because Kejo wont pull if their AFK ^^;.

Hello people,

This is the "asshat" Zippie. I thought about what I wanted to put in response to this very immature post and I think that, using some restraint to prevent me from looking rude or impolite in any fashion, that this is what I have to say in opposition to what was said about me on this forum.

First off, I was not even in the game. True I setup a party and waited on Demonstar to get from Bastok to Kazham, but when he got there I started having Internet problems at my home. My internet went down for about an hour or so. My friends I was on the phone with (Kochotic was one of them if anyone needs verification) saw me get discoed from ls and he tried to search for me and i was not in game. After internet finally came back up, I logged back into a dead me and a few people, the author of this orginal thread being one of them, making rude comments and emotes toward me. I asked him if he could stop doing that and find me a raise and he was rather rude about it. He said I had been sitting there leeching xp because for some reason the server didnt log me out. I have been playing for over a year now and this is the first time I have ever had this happen.

However, for some reason this "Demonstar" person was now on a witch-hunt for me due to probs I had he thought I was just sitting there leeching "his" xp.

I did sit there and from what I was told a gobbie aggroed on him and he zoned it right where I was sitting and I was killed due to my problem I had. So if I was sitting there leeching xp, don't you think I might have zoned when I saw the goblin? When I told him what had happened he told me it was "Impossible to log into a dead body" and for all of you people who have been playing this game for any ammount of time you can most certainly log into a dead body.

Finally, (I will quit boring you guys), the issue of mpking. Now, I might sound like a newb for saying this, but in all my time playing, I have never heard the expression "mpking" nor has any person I know who has been playing over a year. I think he was in reference to when I was irritated about the fact that he trained a goblin on me and I was going to change to my Whm and simply return the favor. I sent all of his people in his party a /tell informing them of this and they all knew what was coming. Then for some reason, the level 31 Drg known as "Demonstar" simply vanished. He used a scroll of instant warp because he knew what he had done to me and what was coming for him. Then instead of training a goblin and warping myself I ended up powerleveling the party he left to make up for his absence.

So to wrap things up, if this is being an "asshat", then sir I am most defintitly an "asshat" and I apolagize to all of you people who had to waste your time to read this garbage thread placed on this server by a person such as our illustrious original author.

I thank you for your time to read this.

Ya everyone gets disconnected..If that player on either sides did verbally abuse someone else just /blist them.

Getting disconnected really does suck, but no reason to hold grudges over..

I am the one usually standing in the first or second jungle leveling up my GS off goblins.. So if I see anyone training goblins I will kill the goblins so it doesn't kill others then, add you to my /blist as well. But if you pull acidentally or get argooed do a shout so you let others know that death is coming or call for help so everyone can jump in and kill it...just takes way to long to raise, everyone that gets killed..

oh btw..u think the goblin bombs in Yhotar are deadly wait til you are in Gustav...my party got nailed by one the other night for 829damage apiece..leveled two of my mages and almost killed me...

Sorry you had a bad experience, but it's quite unfair to ask people to avoid someone or be rude to them because of a one time thing. Everyone makes mistakes or has problems. I had someone in my party once go afk without warning for an hour. Turned out when they got back it was because of a family emergency and they only came back to log and were suprised that they were still in the party.

Things happen. Personalities clash. And blisting is a great option if you don't want to deal with someone. You will find plenty of people who you enjoy dealing with in game.

I can say I have had the dead body login before after a dc. I died, dc'd and relogged and was laying at the feet of my party. Fortunately they were my ls and they know I'm not the type to dc without telling anyone. I've even called friends to send tells to party members I was with when my internet went down. But not everyone has the luxury of doing that.

If you believe he was trying to ***** you over, blisting and not partying with him again should be good enough.

Sometimes when there is a connection problem, not just in this game, but on any TCP/IP based application, one of the ends of the connection may miss that the connection has been closed. When this happens, the program that is using that connection can be left in a funny state. It thinks it has a valid connection, but it doesn't. And until some sort of timeout logic is triggered, the program will continue to think that there is a valid connection.

I've seen it happen in the game a bit. Someone starts to lag or have connection issues. They stop moving for a fairly long time. Eventually, the game realizes there is a problem, and they get the famous "Red Circle" where their LS pearl normally is. A little while later, they will disappear.

I can't say that I've ever seen it happen for an hour, but I've seen it happen for a very long time. At least a good 30 minutes. Much longer than you would expect. If someone doesn't respond, I just assume that they are having problems, or may have fallen asleep at the keyboard (I can't count how many times that's happened to me). In any case, just remove the player, and move along. It's no big deal.

As for logging into a dead body, it is certainly possible. I've had it happen to me on a few occasions when I've lost connection while waiting for a WHM to find their way to me for a Raise. When you are disconnected, your Raise Timer continues to count down, even though your character isn't visible. If you log in again after your hour has expired, you will be at your home point. If you log in before the raise timer expires, you will be a dead body, right where you were before, waiting to be raised.

Yep, that's "MPKing", or "Monster-Player Killing". It's even defined on the PlayOnline website somewhere, after the GM's were given a stricter policy in dealing with people who use monsters to purposely kill other players. I even have a friend who has been sent to GM jail for purposely aggroing a mob, running towards another party, then warping out so the mob would kill that party. It's not something the GM's take lightly.

Trains happen. Whenever you're in an area where things may aggro, you run the risk of getting killed. You should always accept that, even when you are disconnected. Usually, monsters that come your way are not an intentional thing. Just let it go. It happens. Purposely training anything on top of anyone, especially if you threaten to do so or admit to doing it on purpose, regardless of whether or not you feel justified in doing so, will EASILY get you thrown into GM jail if anyone bothers to report it.

And that's all that really needed to happen. I'm not sure why you bothered to post this thread in the first place. These threads are generally pointless. Nobody who is reading it can make any reasonable judgement on the situation, and often both people aren't here to tell their side of the story. In this case, Zippie did come to defend himself, but it really makes little difference. Both of you are telling your biased view of events, and without witnessing the events for yourself, it's impossible for anyone to draw any conclusions.

In the future, just blacklist, and move along. It's very rare that any of these public "This guy is a Jerk" threads are worth seeing, and they are mostly just a waste of bandwidth.

See my friend, your comment of "unbiased opinion" on my side of what happened is backed by quite a few people and facts of what happens sometimes in this game. His side of this happening is completely fabricated to justify being rude to me and training a mob on me. As I mentioned earlier in my rebuddle, I had witnesses and can furnish all names if needed. Also, I had witnesses to him training the goblin on me for revenge to begin with so, yes, I understand what I was doing was wrong, his however, was not a care that he had at the time so during the course of events I was not thinking about it when I did it and at least I warned people, unlike most people who "MPK" and as for what I told him that night about what I did "Do you want to call the GM or would you like for me to?"
