Go here and learn everything. Word needs to spread, and the more people that know, the better. Every signature counts.

BTW, the validity is solid. Petitiononline.com has worked for quite a few occasions.

As long as users don't try to create accounts in order to increase signatures, it may have a chance. Though I've never had much faith in online petitions, I think I'll do a first for me and go sign it now. It's a start in the right direction for players, and maybe, an email campaign can be next. Could you imagine all those irate emails going to one inbox. :D :D

it seems like a really good petition, although i would say that people should be very careful when listing "known gilsellers"; be sure that a character is one before putting his/her name on the list.

signed, number 271.

I don't expect s-e to do jack squat because of the petition since we've been complaining to s-e for the past year about gil sellers and nothing has been done besides fishing "fixes". But I signed it anyways and put some of the obvious gil sellers there. Also like how EVERY time someone posts a topic about it, someone has to pop on and ***** about it being a dead horse being beat and they rate it down. I got karma nuked to all hell last time because I told those people to start thinking and just ignore the threads if it really bothers them. Main reason why I don't bother posting often on the forums, too many people will nuke you because you have a geniune complaint which others will nuke your post out of the list because they didn't like it.

(edit) and for the people that think gil sellers don't hurt the economy or ruin people's gaming, go camp amemit and see how fast you get MPK'd by logitech's crew. I know it's not just their fault but we can't really hit people over the head with a hammer because they are willing to pay over 200% of the original price of sniper's rings or other gear that took a skyrocketing in price

Signed, #428, and I'll be encouraging all members of TSHoT to follow suit. I don't know why folks just can't have fun with something instead of always trying to exploit -_-

I'd like to believe that this could work, but am not really optimistic.

I signed though

I like how when you sign the petition, to the right of the list, there's a direct link to a gil buying site. <.<

Yeah, I'm sure its really valid....and entirely hypocritical, love the IGE ad on every page.

Proves the point I think.... its not going away..and it sheds more than a little light on the "validity" of this petition.

But hey, they're gonna make a ton of cash from showing all those IGE ads to everyone who thinks they are going to make a difference.

Just keep signing people.... at the current rate you'll only need a little over 550 years to hit 1 Million signatures!

It's a constructive way to voice your dislike for the practice though, and while I have little faith in petitions getting something done, I do have faith in that it will help people who share the same feelings get a little more organized to find a good way of approaching a company for change. Even though it's a very, very long shot, it's still a better approach then the current let's get even with gil sellers approach which end up effecting many people's game experience.

Oh I understand that.

I was simply pointing out that yet again the 'gilsellers' have found a way to trump us.

They have even found a way of taking the very minor (and if you look at the posts here you really cant argue that fact) but very vocal percentage of the population who are railing against these people and turning it into a way for those people to sell each other out.

Come on, they are paying real money to put ads on a page that complains about people getting real money out of the game. And we're supposed to believe and trust in the credibility of these people hosting the petition? I know politicians with hands that are a LOT cleaner.

I was thinking about it till I saw the whole thing about listing known gilsellers. I can't agree with that. Cause in all honesty, we don't actually know they are. We have little more than a very strong suspision.

Oh and then I saw the "Free Ipods" thing and that just made me want to sign it less. They could have done a much better job with this...

EDIT:: Notice how apparently Haggan closed the thread even saying it was a waste of time. I'll agree with him and say I'm quite sure SE knows all about the problem. But unless they can prove who the gilsellers are theres not much they can do.

Now they could go to the sites and buy gil and cancel the acct of whoever sends it to them. That's what I would do if I were them, but then again, I'm not sure if they could do that.

Yeah, not a fan of the listing of known gil sellers myself. People are quick to hop on anyone who is in the same spot doing the same thing for a long period of time as a gil seller.

As Haggan Said, E-Sigs are Pretty Useless. If you were to actually get a Drafted Document, and Actual Real Human Ink Signatures, That would be more Moving.

Also, It's Legions more Work. I wish you luck, but in all honesty, the only real use from that list, would be Email Addy Harvesting / Data Mining :x

All of these groups have admitted to "working" for real money except group 2 and 7.

Yes there are many more out there but these are the main ones that are known on our server. Also none of the Mining, fishing (except for one group), etc.. bots are not listed because it is really unsure if the sell gil or they are just extra accounts people use to make some easy gil off of.

Just to clear things up about internet advertising. Just because they accept their money for banner space, doesn't mean they support the site. They may not scan their ad customers is all. I've seen many good sites end up with banner ads that they would be embarrassed to know they had on their site if an employee would have just taken the time to see where the ad revenue was coming from.

Tiffie...

HAving run a site that relies on advertising supplied by advertising agencies and that includes Googel as well I can speak to this.

EVERY ad that comes to a site can be removed if the site owner wishes it. They can also specifically request that advertisements from certain companies and in certain categories be excluded from their ad runs.

Further, the site that is running this petition is NOT associated with the petition itself. The site is nothing more than a host. I can put up a petition in favor of allowing dogs to urinate in public on the third tuesday of the month unless the month ends in an R in which case it should be fridays but only if their owners are wearing white converse high tops at the time. And it will have the same "legit' value as this one.

And here we are, less than a week in and already its lost any momentum it had. Only 1300 Signatures in a week? And if you look a good number aren't valid. But hey, if it makes people feel like they've done something...great. But don't get all pissy when you fail to accomplish anything.

Two weeks. I say Two weeks and you'll see this abandoned too.
