ragnarok prices on popular itemsFollow

Being a BLM i thought i did'n have to complain for some item prices, but yesterday i had a bad surprise upon checking Elemental Torque price: a friend of mine bought it a couple days ago for 350k, quite high i think, but still affordable by someone who doesn't have plenty of time to play FFXI and gather enough money, but yesterday the last price for the Torque was 900k!!!!
Simply insane.
I know it's not an item being monopolyzed by gilsellers, cause it's a drop from a BCNM60, but it makes me more convinced that economy disaster on our server is due mainly to gil-buyer that to gil-sellers. Just till there will be players who can easily pay enormous amounts of internet-bought gil for some items, prices will raise. Why do a greedy player have to sell his Marvelous Shiny Wolly Pants for 100k when he knows that a gil-buyer will promptly buy them for even 10 times its price?
Was i lucky if i didn't receive any complaints till now for not having uber equipment? I never had Morion Earrings and i do not plan to buy Elemental Torque if its price will be so high, I only hope won't get a lot of people discard me for not having it... and... well... i know that in offline games no one ever speak bad about my equip, so why don't take dust off lots of games i bought and still have to play?

Sadly, telling a party you don't have Raise II because you are boycotting the price gouging probably won't fly. However, whoever raised that price should only receive a regular Raise for the rest of his/her life. Shame on you people!

He's in our set, and right now honestly doesn't want to continue leveling until he can get the spell. I don't blame him. Though we will all support him if he decides to continue with or without raise II. Right now, he's talking about taking an extended break. After getting over the erase hurdle, now he's dealing with this and the key hunts are just starting to get to him. I feel pretty bad for the guy. I know another member of our ls (we lost two this week to WoW) is talking about making the switch over. Though him wanting to switch isn't over the price gouging, it's over the discrimination between players. The whole no NA thing is getting to him, as well as it just seems the game is more geared to give players on that side of the ocean a one up.

I've definately noticed a lower morale in the game as a whole. Not just among my linkshell. The forums show it, the parties I've been in with all of my jobs are showing it, the shouts in town are even showing it. Think SE needs to kick another event our way to distract us. And this time make it one that doesn't cost a buttload of money for randomness. They could have added some small event for the 1 year anniversary of NA players. I mean the 1 year anniversary of JP players got greeted with an event, wasn't it adventurer's appreciation week or something? They just really need to do something to pick spirits up in game before people start jumping over to greener pastures.

If they can't control the price gouging, fine. But do something to show us that our continued support is appreciated. And maybe it's unrealistic, but I would think they could at least stop people from buying gil en masse. I mean I've met people who were quite vocal about buying gil. I think if they were to make public examples out of a few people, that many would actually shy away from it.

Though on a funny note, when I was out with surgery, some people were thinking of getting me a get well gift. It is well known I'm obsessed with this game. One person actually suggested buying me gil. Fortunately, someone else knew how I felt on the subject and kind of talked them out of it, but I did find it funny that that as a gift idea popped into someone's head. That tells me that ebay is overly flooded with gil sellers since many people I know wouldn't know about companies like IGE.

Raise II prices were gouged forever ago. Like right when I hit lvl 56. The price went from 60k to 200k in less than a week. Then when I got Raise III, the price went from 100k to 250k, then back down to 210k (which I bought it for).

I gain absolutely nothing by buying this spell, it's sole purpose is to help other people :(

Which really is the ultimate Irony. The people who are jacking the price are going to need a WHM with Raise III at some point and I can't wait until they get a......
"Sorry, but some twit jacked the price and I couldn't afford Raise II or III, you'll have to settle for Raise I. Try not to think about the massive XP loss while you count your gil." reply.

There are things that you can price jack with litle effect...but when you are so greedy that the only person you are really ******** is yourself....that's the height of idiocy.

Can't Raise III be purchased in Rabao? If so, I'm half tempted to run to Rabao, load up on them, and sell them at the AH for what I paid plus AH fees. I mean, granted, I play the buy low sell high game as well. I'll go to Kazham, stock up on bard spells and sell them for a 100 gil profit or whatever. But I'm not trying to gouge people.

A lot of time people don't want to run to other towns or find where to buy spells and don't mind paying a markup for the convienance factor. I did it with my Earth Spirit, knowing I could get it in Norg for cheaper, but also knowing the trip to Norg is not a fun one at the level I was. I have no problem with people doing that. But it's when they double or triple the price it just seems to get out of hand. Hell, even 7-11 started having reasonable prices. They are still higher then most places because of the convienance fee, but you are no longer paying 3 times as much for a gallon of milk.

I was just looking in Ru'Lude Gardens at Raise II and it was going for 75k - 80k... about the price I paid for it a month ago as I was preparing for my decent to the magical 56 (getting closer... slowly).
Don't know where it was ever selling for 200k though... if it was, then yeah, that's screwed up. I recall it once being 100k... but the 80k or thereabouts that I paid is nice.

Regarding Raise III, only recieved from BCNM's in Beadeaux... >_<

The one in Jueno last night, while the AH history is showing the normal price range, I know people went up to 100k trying to buy it last night and were not able to. I am not sure if anymore was tried at that point, because the whm at this point was pretty fustrated that since the history had been stable that whole time, why is it now all of the sudden being jacked up out of the blue.
