Stupid/Funny death storiesFollow

Another near death that had me laughing last night. I had some friends who are allianced with Windy accept the mission where you need the 3 mages to open the door, and since I have the charm, I figured I'd take them and get them past everything. They weren't the highest of levels, but I wanted them to enjoy doing the mission instead of the whole sneak/invis rush job most do when helping others. I would pull and they would fight and I'd stand there and cure them. I guess we were all getting comfy with the no danger thing by the end of the run. We also had a mid level whm with us who stood with them while they were doing their cutscenes as I went to go scout the canal to see what I would be facing this week for my AF. Noticing very few mobs and that they were easy prey and knowing the people I were with just love exploring, I told them to get the whm to sneak them to the door and come join me. I mean I was only looking around and killing ep anyway.

Well, like an idiot, I see a blob and put Ifrit on it. Fire IV every 55 seconds is not enough to take this down. After Ifrit went down the first time I targetted the blob and realized I had barely scratched it. That's when I decided to tell the entire party to run to zone, as I was booking for dear life. If not for my quick thinking of equipping earth staff I don't think I would have made it. Fortunately, they were still at zone line so they had no trouble getting out.
