I saw the new X-men movie today. There was a total of 9 people in the theater. Surprisingly low, even for this area. But it is memorial day weekend and it is really nice outside. I'm not sure if nice weather will hurt ticket sales opening weekend? I guess I'm odd that i prefer daytime theater viewings as opposed to night time. Probably not your typical movie goer.

Overall I liked the movie. But I have enjoyed most of the X-men movies. Even X3 I liked. (Wolverine Origins... Probably lowest on my list, but... still liked most of it). To me, they are like they Transformers movies. I watch them for the effects, to see powers being used, etc.

I think they captured Apocalypse as a "False God" type pretty well. He wasn't all that powerful. He was definitely more powerful than almost every other mutant, but he was "All Powerful". I don't follow the source materials, so I don't know how well this version of him would play with the "true" fans, but I liked the arrogant, yet not as powerful as he assumed, nature.

Sansa was pretty dull. I mean, she didn't really do anything until awakening the Phoenix at the end to save the day. You know it's going to end that way, I just think they should have built on her a bit and had her do more than just be a walkie-talkie for the team up til that point.

Quicksilver steals the show, like he did before. His school rescue scene was fun, and his short lived "Kick Apocalypse's Ass" scene was enjoyable.

Attack of the Show gal didn't do much of anything the whole movie. A bit more than Sansa, but from a couple comments about the movie and how "kick ass" she was, I thought her action would be a lot more. She saves Storm once, and has a small fight with Hank, and that's about it.

Jackman makes a short lived appearance, freed from his captivity, runs rampant clearing the base for the kids, then Sansa calms him and he runs off.

Storm does all of Jack squat. Betrays and Zaps Apocalypse with Lightning at the end to stop him from teleporting away after Sansa strips him of his protections.

Magneto joins Apocalypse and tears apart the whole world after the Polish Secret Police shoot his wife and daughter with a wooden arrow.

Mystique doesn't die. I thought for sure she was going to be killed off because I had heard Lawrence didn't want to play the character anymore, and when Apocalypse grabs her throat I thought that was the end of her.

The movie went by quickly. No real low/slow points.

One scene after all the credits. A cleanup crew goes back to the base and recovered a lot of stuff dealing with the Weapon X, some x-rays and what I assume is Wolverine's Blood. Guy in charge puts the vial of blood in a suit case labelled "Essex Corp" along side some Blue/Yellow/Green vials.

I went to see it yesterday afternoon and there were about ten or so people there. This is the same theater that I saw Deadpool in, and that show sold out. That sort of tells you the level of interest in this movie. Anyway, I thought the movie was kind of boring. There wasn't much in the way of character development, the action scenes were a bit boring and Apocalypse was another one dimensional evil guy. I did like Sansa as Jean, but that was about it. If there was an after credits scene, I missed it. By the time the movie ended, I just didn't care anymore. The Quicksilver scene wasn't bad, but was better in the last movie.

I read they all but cut out Jubilee from the movie. Like we still don't see her power being used, and most of her scenes are cut and that she just kind of vanishes from the movie all together with no real explanation. True or false?

There is someone in there dressed like Jubilee that is more or less an extra. I don't even recall her saying anything.
