"We're both named Chris" is a great line. Christopher Robin was pretty good. Kind of sickeningly sweet as one would expect, though the last twenty minutes are a bit of a disappointment. Also the lack of Kenny Loggins music, real downer. Other than that, might be worth a watch.

Apparently Tom Holland messed up again when he made a video where his stuntman was in the background soaking wet, leading people to believe the rumors that Hydro-Man is in the sequel in some capacity.

Looks like Disney CEO Alan Horn is standing by his decision to let James Gunn go, so that should make Guardians 3 news a little more interesting. Are they still going to use his script? Will Bautista return as Drax? Will the rest of the actors just phone it in? Apparently there's a picture of him dressed as a priest at a costume party surrounded by people dressed as little kids and all I can think was that it looked a lot like the last Halloween party I went to. Oh well.

Iron Fist: Season 2 official trailer is out. It's a trailer, so it looks neat. Still a bit wary considering season 1. SpoilerI like how Davos' Shining Finger is a different color than Danny's. That's a nice touch.

Ended up watching Christopher Robin. Cute, but very short. I laughed at more of the jokes than I thought I would. I question the ending's logic Spoilereven if they gave all their employees the as of yet unheard of paid vacations... I doubt every single one of them buying a piece of their soon to be discounted luggage would offset the cost. Maybe employee pay is so significantly low in post WWI (? or was it II... I didn't catch it.) era UK. I liked it, and for 5.50 it wasn't a bad way to spend a Sunday morning. Probably would be more enjoyable with a kid though. The little ones in the theater seemed occupied by the movie more than some others I have gone to. They were all quiet and paying attention, vs the ones that were at the last Avengers movie which tended to be running around the aisles.

Preacher was pretty much amazing. I liked their choice of song when Spoilerthe Humperdinks were released.

Because I'm slow I just realized that Iron Fist's next season is the same weekend as the Spider-Man PS4 game, September 7^th.

Speaking of Netflix, Melissa Rosenberg, the showrunner on Jessica Jones, has confirmed that season 3 is on the way, and it's been confirmed that she's set to leave the series afterwards because she's struck a deal with Warner Bros Television. They outbid Netflix for her services in a deal said to be somewhere in the eight-figure range. After that edgelord Titans trailer I'd say she's got a challenge on her hands.

And speaking of Warner Bros, apparently they're making another show, this time based around Batman's butler called Pennyworth. It's already been revealed that Pennyworth will pick up with Alfred after he's left the S.A.S. and forms a "secret company" with Thomas Wayne but some audition videos reveal that he's actually a selfish young man who doesn't think too highly of the wealthy. He then has a conversation with an unknown character about kidnapping Wayne for an unknown, villainous organization and in return they will release a woman called Esme who appears to be Aflred's love interest.

Not sure if I should check out The Innocents on Netflix. Trailer feels a bit familiar. Like it's been done before. I vaguely remember a series about people who could "awaken" themselves in their reincarnated bodies using things like trinkets from their past lives. And some secret organization group of them... but I remember loosing interest after the first season (or it was cancelled, either or, same result).

Netflix also totally gets me. Cause I got an email saying "We just added something you might like!" To All the Boys I Loved... or something like that. Ya Netflix. You understand my viewing habits and aren't just trying to push your "Originals" these days...


I've found myself watching random sitcoms that I normally wouldn't when ever I'm in hotels. And have been enjoying reruns of Goldbergs and Big Bang Theory a lot more than I figured I would. Not enough to actually attempt to watch them in order or binge them online somewhere. But enough that I'll leave my TV on Nick in the early AM and watch Goldbergs and TBS all afternoon and watch what ever they show.

This show, I can't recall the name, I think we talked about it here over the years. Centers on a woman and her husband. The woman awakens as one of these people. She starts to like Jazz and such. Man starts hunting down the truth. I think there was a scene in the beginning where a teenage girl kills herself cause she couldn't handle the transition as her past life was being awoken. Some in fighting happened in the group, people would threaten to (or maybe did) destroy the items that they used to awaken the soul once they reached adulthood. Effectively "killing" the past life. Apparently anyone could do it, but this group kept it secret and only let those they felt worthy to continue.

Just realized the actor who plays TC... he was the Bad Biker, Actually Good Guy, from Falling Skies.

On to recent... I didn't watch Preacher last night, and today turned on AMC's streaming service. Only to be greeted by a "You have to disable your adblocker to watch this!". Seems AMC updated their streaming service to detect and block ad blocking...

Wile E Coyote, Super Genius, is getting a movie. Coyote vs Acme, and according to Variety it will be an animated movie produced by director Chris McKay with Jon and Josh Silberman (Always Sunny and Borderlandtown) to write the script. Sounds like a procedural like A Few Good Men, which I can't imagine it'll be an hour and a half of Wiley in court, but a dozen shorts tied together with the case being the framing device. Kind of like Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island or The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie, hopefully.

Though I doubt it.

It definitely is a "better as a whole" type thing. But I don't imagine fans of Simpsons and Futurama are looking for a 10 episode series that you need to watch the whole thing to enjoy.

At least it's a really short story. 5 hours or less total.


I did try to start watching The Innocents over the weekend and got distracted 15 minutes into the first episode.

Well, he was unhappy being stuck in elf world, making candy and getting cock-blocked, so I just assumed he was naively happy to be out and about.

Well, he basically lost that character trait around episode 2 or 3 and simply became Fry's feelings for Leela as his sole personality. Also he isn't an elf. I would spoiler that, but it literally comes out of nowhere and isn't yet relevant to the "plot" so it's not like it even matters.

The last episode ends strongly, in that it's actually interesting and entertaining, except it's a cliffhanger ending that sets up season 2.

It's not entirely surprising that he isn't an actual elf, considering the naming convention of everyone else (Worko, Weirdo, Kisso ...) and he's the one named Elfo.

Venom has a tie-in song by Eminem, who also just released an album last night with the song as well. Kamikaze, which also has a neat tribute to the Beastie Boys' License to Ill album. I just finished listening to the album, it's not bad. The Ringer is a pretty good song, and Venom (the song for the movie, obv) is decent. Can't imagine it really saving the movie.
