That's unfortunate. I really liked him as Heimdall.

Not a bad choice at all.

I have one too. Daniel Bruhl was cast for Captain America 3 and Dr. Strange. I would love him as Zemo but being the potential main villain in the Strange movie makes this highly unlikely.

I really wished Fantastic Four was already under the MCU umbrella instead of Fox. Dr Doom would be a great villain in the right hands. Plus I would love to see Loki, Red Skull, Doom and other villains teaming up.

Apparently he's going to be an angry blogger in the FF reboot.

I do not think it will go over well.

Not really news since it's been out there for a while but nevertheless I enjoyed watching it.

Not MCU per say, but Apocalypse has been cast for the next Wolverine X-Men movie before any Dr Strange confirmation.

Huh? The article mentions Jennifer Lawrence, Fassbender and McAvoy and IMDb confirms this. Will we have another time travel-related X-Men movie? While I really did like Days of Future Past (and the three previously mentioned actors as well) I had hoped we would be moving forward now.

Or will this play out after Wolverine sunk in the river at the end of DoFP and before his time-traveling consciousness awakens?

It'll take place in the 80s. Its another sequel to First Class & more of a prequel to the "modern" X-Men & Wolverine flicks. Wolvie will probably be in it because he sells lots of tickets, but it'll kind of mess with the already screwy timelines if he is. Mystique seems to have him at the end of DoFP, so maybe she'll get him his adamantium?

As for that timeline, is Origins: Wolverine considered canon? I rewatched it yesterday and could not reconcile it with the other movies at all. And the horrible way Gambit, the Blob and Deadpool were displayed hurt my soul pretty badly.
#86 Nov 25 2014 at 5:47 PM Rating: Good
I'm going to go with no. In fact, Apocalypse will probably spin this into a "alternative" timeline thingy as Channing Tatum will be playing Gambit in either a solo flick or in Apocalypse (or maybe both?). He's been cast as Gambit anyway. & with the whole Mystique standing over Wolvie thing at the end of DoFP most likely he's going to get his adamantium a little differently.

I wouldn't be surprised if Deadpool mentions & makes fun of X-Men Origins Wolverine in his movie, though.

As far as I can tell, everything that would happen after the 1970s (Days of Future Past) isn't canon. So X-Men 1 through 3, Origins, and The Wolverine are all out. I imagine they'll address that in a montage in the next movie's opening sequence to establish what they felt like keeping in. I also imagine they'll toss in Jackman at the end to establish the sequel. Or make him the Horseman of Death. That'd be pretty neat.

Some suggestions for One-Shots

Sadly, I fear we won't be seeing this format anymore.

Well, I binged all of Arrow Season 2 and what has aired of Season 3 over the Holiday Weekend.

I was very productive.

Marvel Unlimited is having a sale on it's subscription for just 75¢ for the first month until the December 4th. Gives access to 75 years of books, so if you want to read up on some character's history, now would probably be a good time to jump on that. Use the code MARVEL75 at checkout.

More direct link.

While we're here, all the Cyber Monday comic related sales. Books-a-Million seems to be having a buy two get one free Marvel graphic novel sale. Might also cover DC comics, haven't looked too deeply.

First half of Arrow vs Flash was not bad (imo). Is it just me, or did they entirely skip how they caught the bady? Flash and Arrow make up, and then after commercial break, they are walking away from putting him in the prison... these two series seem to do that a lot.

Edit: I can't remember which threads talk about which shows anymore.

Yeah, the bad guy seemed to be there only to be a catalyst to cause the fight and some character drama and it appeared the writers didn't even bother thinking of what to do with him after he'd accomplished the whammy. It's a two parter and they could have left it for tomorrow's episode of Arrow or something. It didn't really disappoint me, because I was pretty much prepared for the worst. The episode wasn't horrible, but I can't say I enjoyed it either. It certainly doesn't make me want to watch tomorrow's episode of Arrow, a show I already don't want to follow.

Extra thread, extra post. I won't tell if you won't.

Slightly offtopic but Cumberbatch confirmed as Dr. Strange. Smiley: wink

Edit: Jessica Jones casting confirmed as well. Krysten Ritter it is. I must confess to not be excited about this. But then I only know her from Breaking Bad and Out of my League.

Another edit: Mike Colter cast as Luke Cage.

Guess now all that's left is waiting on the trailer. Still didn't like Cucumber as Kahn, and haven't seen enough Sherlock to really use that as a reference. Colter has the look, but skimming over his IMDB page doesn't really have anything that jumps out. Still like Terry Crews more. I still kind of want them to go with Cage from the 70s, with the tiara and yellow blouse. I guess they can do pretty much anything with Jessica, since like a quarter of her background is off limits to MCU, and another half involves Cage.

Last night I dreamed I had Doc Ocks metal arms on my back and went around town squashing people.

Brain, I don't even...
Maybe I should spent less time thinking about Marvel.

He was decent as Wade for the two or three minutes of airtime he got. I just hope they ridicule the hell out of Barakapool. Still not sure I want to see it, I'm highly cautious of Way influences.

Some non-news news. Al Pacino interviews to remind people he's still alive.

I would like to see him as some scheming villain. Mephisto for example. I hope they prevent him from doing his Hoo-ah thing though.

Marvel & Sony were discussing using Spidey in Cap 3, Sony said no. Thank North Korea for the info!
