As a young girl, Akko was fascinated and mesmerized by Shiny Chariot’s magic show. Determined to become a witch just like Shiny Chariot, Akko enrolls in the prestigious witch academy, Luna Nova. Contrary to her expectations, the classes are unexpectedly boring. Akko struggles to keep herself in high hopes and spirits, but the reaction from her peers remain indifferent. In the previous episode, Akko became the school’s hero by slaying the dragon that appeared from the underground dungeon, but her fame is short-lived. The new episode will be a sequel with new characters to the previous episode.
The response was quite positive, and now they've opened a kickstarter to get funding to produce a second episode. The Kickstarter opened yesterday, and has already reached its funding goal. It will be immediately subtitled in several languages, and the studio seems to really be aiming for Western support with this Kickstarter.

Why Kickstarter?
The first episode of Little Witch Academia was created under the “Anime Mirai†project by Yoh Yoshinari and studio TRIGGER.
The episode was made available to be viewed on the internet shortly after the premier, and many support and comments were given. To answer to these voices, we have decided to create a sequel to the episode. We also found out about Kickstarter through the comments given by the fans oversea.
Being a new studio, we felt the Kickstarter system to be innovative and fitting to our studio’s taste. Making a series “with†the fans is definitely what we were looking for. With the support from our fans, we believe that we can definitely develop on this new foundation.

I haven't watched the first ep yet myself, but am definitely interested based on the interest I've seen from other people for the Kickstarter.
