i was just curious, but anyone here write fantasy stories as well? not just professionally, but as hobby as well?
The closest i have ever got was my ultra convoluted RPG campains back in my collage years, they were works of art and utterly wasted on my group of min/max powergaming players.
"Who cares about the nubile princess, have you seen that +6 sword of utter distuction!!! pah so what if it's cursed and will lead to the distruction of the universe, GIMMIE!!"
My talent was wasted i tell you.

I write bits and pieces of a huge story I started when I was 16, mostly just to have something to write when I need inspiration for an interview, or other piece of work. It's not good, but it's fun!
I wrote and still write bad fanfction for a ton of things.

I've started and never finished at least a dozen scifi/fantasy stories, I've also been tempted to try and turn some of my screwed up dreams into screenplays :D
I have 2 in the works, they are going sloowwwwly. Some of my earlier stuff is in my journal

I used to write a lot back in high school, but looking back, it was a crummy world filled with Plot Holes and Spelling Errors. Though I'll always cherish the book of "Mini-Epics" my English teacher had published when I was a junior. I took up almost half of volume 2. 
I don't do very much writing now. Mostly backstory for my WoW characters.
