While wiki-walking through youtube today I ran across the "Mr Hooper is dead" segment from Sesame Street. At the end, Big Bird says "Goodbye, Mr Looper" and is corrected by Maria; "It's Mr Hooper, Big Bird!"
In the following comments section, people mention that Big Bird always got his name wrong.
Here's the thing: I disagree.
My memory tells me that, in fact, Big Bird didn't always do that. I recall that this came about after a particularly acrimonious argument between Big Bird and Mr Hooper concerning the "reality" of Mr Snuffleupagus, as Mr Hooper thought Big Bird should quit living a pointless fantasy vis-a-vis his "imaginary" friend.
I spent a couple of hours researching everything I could find concerning this and came up empty.
So, here's the question: Am I nuts, or is this a thing that occurred on the show?
