If you're having trouble patching the item collector, go to https://github.com/Gidono/akz-itemcollector and download the backend.exe and backend.md5 files and place them in your item collector directory overwriting the current backend.exe in there. Then run itemcol.exe.

Profile uploads is currently broken in the current build of the item collector. It's being worked on.

Downloaded the backend.exe file, but there isn't a file to download for the backend.md5.

Right click the file backend.md5 and save as, that should let you download it. If not, create a file named backend.md5 in the same directory as the item collector and open it in text editor and put this in it,

Make sure to save the file as a .md5 file and not a text file. Notepad++ should let you save as whatever extension if you use it.

Alright got it downloaded, followed your instructions and still the same error message when downloading update. I even disabled antivirus and firewall and still no luck.

Decided to test it on my Windows 10 laptop and no issues installing it and working. That'll be great if I want to run it when traveling. I just need to get it working on my Windows 7 computer.

Is this windows 7 computer running a WIFI card or a ethernet (cat5 cord) to get internet?

Uninstall the current version of winpcap on your windows 7 computer. Then install the version here.

Once you have it installed, go into the item collector settings and check if your network interface is set to your ethernet network card.

If it is set to your ethernet card, then you're set. However at this current time, the item collector isn't patched for the last game update so it will not read anything from the game until it's patched.

Forgot to post, but still not working after doing what you instructed me to do and still get "An error occured while downloading an update, please try again later." Nobody else is complaining about this, so guessing it's only me having this issue.

Hard to tell what the issue is. You would need to take a look at your firewall/router logs and see if it's blocking the download by chance. I know Norton 360 wants to quarantine it after we patch it every time because it doesn't recognize it as a legit program. Other anti malware might do the same.

I'm using the installer from Lucy located at https://lucy.allakhazam.com/downloads.html

It downloads correctly, however on attempt to install I get the following error during the installation of WinPcap 4.0.2 Setup

This version of windows is not supported by WinPcap 4.0.2. The installation will be aborted.

Searching this thread for "This version of windows" yields no results. Surely I'm not the only person with this issue popping up.

I did not spot an alternate download link which might lead me to using the WinPcap nessesary for a windows 10 x64 system.

Attempting to run itemcol.exe without the wpcap.dll results in "The code execution cannot proceed because wpcap.dll was not found. (of course, because it wasn't installed)

System information is as follows.

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.17763 Build 17763
x64-based PC

i9-9900k on Z390 Aorus Ultra (convinced this won't have any relevance to the issue, but provided just in case.)

I've downloaded WinpCap 4.1.3 from https://www.winpcap.org/install/ (shows no longer being developed) now being told "No interfaces found! Make sure pcap is installed."

Looking back on previous posts it seems there's not a viable option for windows 10 at the moment for item collector. Correct me if I'm wrong, but seems I might have wasted some time trying to get this to work. If I am not wrong, until a time that this is supported by windows 10, it might be prudent to inform users at the location of the download link that it doesn't function with windows 10.

To get it running with Windows 10, you'll need to install the Windows 10 winpcap at http://www.win10pcap.org and use an ethernet card and not a wifi card. I think some have had luck getting the newest winpcap from https://www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm to work with wireless cards on windows 10, however I haven't had such luck. There is also a npcap that is up to date at https://nmap.org/npcap/, however I haven't been able to get it to work in compatibility mode.

Right now the item collector won't read any info from the game as it hasn't been patched to work with the latest eqgame.exe. Also, there is a game patch tomorrow morning that will require investigating into what has changed with eqgame.exe regarding how it sends data. Once that is figured out, the item collector developer can hopefully patch the item collector.

I use the Windows 10 winpcap at http://www.win10pcap.org and it works fine with my Wireless NIC. (at least it did before the Item Collector quit uploading profiles.)

Still having profile issues. I try to upload profiles and get the message: "Error: Permission denied, incorrect login or not premium."

I double-checked my login and have been premium for years. (And your website is having login issues as well)

After the work done to the site yesterday I cannot launch the item collector. I am using Windows 10, so I had to download a non-packaged version of WinPcap. "An error occured while downloading an update, please try again later." This is when running as administrator, and I downloaded the most recent backend.exe and backend.md5 from the github repository.
