Right! So...I can't figure out by looking exactly what happened to a poster by looking at their User page.
For instance, Hellboy's posts still show on an forum page, but his post count is zero. He was banned, right?
Angry Hippo's posts still show on an forum page, and his post count is zero. But...was he banned? Not that I recall.
Varus, of course, was nuked from orbit, his posts are gone and he has no user page (not one us plebes can see, anyway).
So I guess the question is "what are the different levels of punishment/banishment"? And "how can I tell by looking"?

I'll check when I get home. Hellboys might have been been developer intervention, hippo was not banned. Might be related to the database transition.

quite a few old posters requested that...who was that FFXI kiddie who requested it, got it, then came back to post on an alternate account?
Why would you request a nuking? Say some embarrassing **** and want it gone?
I think to stop them from coming back. They felt it was an addiction but getting rid of the account would help them stop as starting from scratch isn't as attractive as increasing your existing postcount
I can't speak for everyone who's asked for this, certainly not wanting a digital history drives some of them.
