I have a windows 8 computer and installed FFXI on it. When I try to launch the program it says it cannot run on the current operating system. Any advice on what to do or how to beat this?

Was this a brand new download of FFXI, or an old one you had from install disks?
They had to do an update to Playonline to allow it to run on Vista/7/8, and you can download and install this new version and use your disks to install the rest of the game.

These were old disc's I had. Do you know where I can go to get the download ? Do I have to uninstall the game before I install this new version ? Thanks for taking the time to respond to the post ^^

Yes, both will need to be uninstalled before you setup this one.

One last question: Where do I download SoA for pc? I only bought it for 360 when it came out ^^

Can't link it directly but just Google "FFXI SOA torrent" and you'll find a couple of hits right near the top.
