Looking to buy a new computer Follow

The top one is the better of the two, though you could build a better computer than that for the money if you have assembly skills.

I always go with Nvidia cards myself, but that card should theoretically work. Both those computers are decent, mid to low end computers, the PSU is too small on both of them, but other than that they should work

The power supply in both of them is a piece of junk 400 watt solytech power supply. It actually produces 350 watts. Aside from that the rest of the components are decent. Would I buy either of them? No. Am I the right target to answer that question? Probably not.

I tried finding out what mobos come with those set pcs but ppl at BB said they don't know so it's probably some pos one that will need upgrading.

where did you find that at and are they AM3+ ? Also The reason why I want to upgrade pc is the one I'm on now is really old. Specs AMD Athlon Dual-Core Processor 2.7 GHZ Ram 4 GB GPU Radeon 5570 HD 1 GB I have to turn all the settings on FF14 ARR and it still doesn't run that great. I was looking at Build a PC on reddit and I saw this http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/1ej3av/build_complete_my_first_build_600_budget/ it seems pretty decent to me but fiqured I would ask compare to the other pcs ? I was gonna check some small time computer stores if they would build a pc if I had too and how much they charge etc but haven't yet.

Did they say the whole mobo name or just that it was a Gigabyte? Wondering if it be good one for future upgrading the cpu etc or not.

Both of those machines are better than the ibuypower ones, though for upgradeability you really don't want a mini atx case or motherboard. A couple of issues though, A 660 GTX 2GB wants at least 600 watts for a power supply, and Zotac is not a reccommended video card brand. For a case, get something large enough that you can work in it, like a cooler master cm690 III or a HAF case.

The 6 core AMD is a higher class processor than the i3 you have specified. When talking Intel processors, there are a couple things you have to look at. First is family, The Core series started with the Core 2 duo and quad processors, which were replaced with the first generation i3, i5 and i7 processors. There have been roughly 4 generations of I3-I7 processors. The main difference relates to features. I3 are generally considered the lower end, less feature rich, low core count processors, but they support onboard video. The I5's are the mid range, and can be found in quad core configurations, but generally will lack the onboard video component the I3's have. The I7's are the top end processors, split in to i7 standard and i7 extreme edition.

Once you have the family down, then there are socket types. There are (in order of low to high "horsepower") Socket 1156, Socket 1155, Socket 1366, and Socket 2011. The socket 2011 Core i7 processors are the fastest desktop processors on the planet at the moment (the Xeon variants are slightly faster) and have 8 ram slots available. The Socket 1156 processors have been discontinued. The socket 1155 processors are generally going to be most of your I3's and lower cost I5-I7 processors, and can only support 4 ram slots. Socket 1366 was replaced by scoket 2011, and could do 6 ram slots, but they aren't being made anymore.

AMD processsors of course use their own sockets. Generally for a low cost build, you can get more bang for your buck going with AMD. A high end Intel system will generally run circles around a high end AMD system though.
