Built it all myself this weekend for less than half what a premade system would have cost me($1300 but I already had the video card so $1500 if you include that). OMG its screaming. I don't have any problems really just wanted to share with one of my favorite online communities my new toy.
Overclocking of FSB/Ram and CPU plus dual(Up to 4) SLI 460's will happen when necessary.
What do you think of my build? :)

Sounds good I guess, bragging about it isn't going to endear you to the community. That being said I'm really working on building me a Blu-Ray box for my 42" LCD TV.

I think I might make my old PC a media server for my TV as well. I have hooked it up to the TV once to play LoTRO just for kicks. It might be fun to get some netflix going and set up some kind of DVR.
What software are you going to use to power your Blu ray player? I don't have much experience yet with crossover media player stuff.

No idea as I haven't even really started building yet. I have a case, CPU and OS so far. I'll look and see what's available at the time I'm closer to finished. I'll be using it for Blu-Ray movies, WoW and LOTRO I'm sure. Outside of those 3 things, it will/should have no other uses.
And I'm not being grumpy, just jealous because I should've had mine finished already.
Honestly, for the Blu-Ray software I'll probably go with whatever Kao recommends. He's usually pretty good about that kind of stuff.

Not a bad little rig there. How are you likeing that Sabertooth motherboard so far? any issues with it? I haven't tried that particular one yet.
No real weak points there, may want to get another 460 at some point to run in Dual SLI mode since you have that SSD and the ram and processor to support it.

Available blueray PC playback at the moment is actually kind of lame for Computers, as there are a few extra steps you need to worry about
Your video output card, and your video monitor both need to be HDCP compliant for starters. If you are using a HDTV as a monitor, it already is, but many standard PC monitors are not. My system passes for Blueray, with the exception that it doesn't have a blueray player in this particular rig yet, but fails for Blueray 3D as the monitor isn't 3D effect (the glasses) compatable.
As far as software goes, Cyberlink Powerdvd 10 Ultra is probably the slightly better choice over the alternatives at this point, but all of them can be buggy at times to a certain degree ov er a dedicated hardware player. It also costs money $89 give or take).

Awesome, my current PC is nearly Blu-Ray ready, just need a drive and software for playback. That being said, the box I'm building will be more than up to the task, provided I grab some Blu-Ray software. I use PowerDVD currently, so I'll have zero problem with upgrading to a newer version as I like the package.

Sabertooth seems solid so far but it's only been up one day hehe. I will say this, I thought I might get away with the stock cooler for that corei7 950 and it was sitting ambient with no load at 32-35C so I thought I had it licked. Especially considering the high airflow Coolermaster tower that is stocked with 140-160mm fans. Installed and launched Champions Online which offloads allot to the CPU and that poor chip shot up to 82C and my thermal monitor starting buzzing.
So I went out and picked up the Corsair water cooler. It was a bit of a PITA to install and it has a plastic backplate. Which is good in one sense that you don't risk shorting out your mobo but one of the screws semi striped out the plastic back plate and the gromit starting turning inside of the plate without being fully tight. It made me feel a bit sketchy and I still need to get a washer or something to fix it but it is holding CPU temps real nice down to 45C at load instead of 80+ so It's good for now. I'll definitely want to fix it if I try to OC to 4.0+. But I dont play any games that push the CPU that hard yet.
The sabertooth is rated for Tuff military specs and has a ceramic coating around the socket to prevent heat from leaking to the mobo, that may just be snake oil though. I mostly picked it up because the tower, CPU, and mobo were a package deal from New egg for over $200 off. So far so good I'll let you know if I run into any trouble with it. :)

I have an i7-950 3.06GHz. 3.06GH is standard, I believe, but your bios might have the voltages up just a tad if you still have stuff on "Auto" within your bios... mine sometimes reports 3.07GHz or 3.08GHz.
I also have the Cooler Master HAF X (thanks Kao!).
12GB RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws 1333. Should have bought the 1600s, but I doubt I'll even use the whole 12GBs anytime soon.

I am running a stock HSF on my CPU, because the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 I was using was somehow messing with all of my RAM showing up, so I took the CM HSF out and put the stock in...
Right now my CPU temp is 29C (Artic Silver 5, to the rescue!), and I have never seen it above 50C. I praise the amount of fans I have in the HAF X case for the awesome temps. (Two 200mm exhaust on top, one 140mm exhaust on rear, one 230mm in-take on the front, one 200mm Red LED in-take on the side, and a 120mm fan in the GPU air duct.

Oops yeah that just a typo good eye. I havent messed with the voltages to much yet, just glanced at them to make sure they were not to far out of wack.
The stock HSF problem could have been caused by the stock thermal grease. I have some AS5 I could have used instead but I always wanted to try a water cooled system and it gave me an excuse to buy more stuff. ;)

Im bascially running the same build with 12 gb ram 950watt psu h70 hydro cooler dual 5870's in xfire. I am really wanted to get a SSD... how do you like it?

It's pretty sweet. It's noticeably faster across all load and boot times. We will see if there is much degradation over time. So far none. I wish it was bigger now though. I can fill that 60GB much faster than I would have hoped. I try and keep enough space on it so that I can load games that require the performance on it and load games that don't onto the HDD. I will most likely pick up a second one as they inevitably come down in price to size ratio. On this build I was trying to stay under $1500.
The POST/BIOS takes longer to load now than Windows. It will be interesting to see how much faster the new replacement for BIOS (UEFI) unified extensible firmware interface is. It's supposed to be coming out standard on mobo's around 2011 ish. But honestly I only read a short article on CNET about it so we will see.
