Let's get the hype train in full swing! Yeah, baby!

How's this for a start? Andre is back. Or someone who looks like him with the same name who is also a Blacksmith. Shows up in the new hub zone.

Go to: https://account.microsoft.com

Login to xbox ms account.

Under billing and payments tab at the top, select payment options.

Add a new payment option.

In the US dropdown, select Japan and check Payal.

Click next and link your paypal to your MS account.

If it asks for an address on MS page, enter US embassy address:

1-10-5 Akasaka

Minato-ku, Tokyo 107-8420 JAPAN

Phone: 03-3224-5000

Go to microsoft store and purchase 8000 yen.

Use paypal to purchase.

Go to xbox.com and change language to Japan at the bottom left hand side of the page.

Redeem codes from bottom of purchase email: https://account.xbox.com/ja-JP/PaymentAndBilling/RedeemCode?xr=mebarnav

Purchase on xbox.com dark souls 3 purchase page using the yen account credit.

Edit: If it asks for a credit card before being able to use credit, enter in the same address as the US embassy and your credit card info will still go through as it doesn't validate it against the billing address. Once done it should let you still purchase it. (I'm not sure if this is required as I already had the address and card populated)

Yup, looked it up on Reddit and the forums there are having a meltdown. Apparently streamers got a copy as well and it's fully ready. With the depth of feels fans have for this series knowing you could play the game right now but they are holding it until the right quarter for profit reports is a bitter estus to swallow.

I could not resist and I did watch Oroborus stream a bit to see the PvP. It was low level but it looked fast and pokey for many hits of small damage. I am a bit concerned that I will want to jolly coo-op as a blind run noobling and someone with the game for 3 weeks will twink harass me before I really know whats what. Apparently you have to ember (humanity/effigy) to be invaded so I guess you will most likely be 2 on 1 if you summon for a boss and get invaded. But still as much as I like the PvP when I am in the mood I might be offline a bit in the early stages except to co-op for souls or stuck on a boss.

We will see, no sense twisting up my pixel panties over it now.

Holding the Western release back is sort of a slap in the face as it was the Western market that made the Souls games as popular as they are.

Lucky. The roommate with the PS4 is moving out tomorrow, so no DS3 for me until I save up to get my own. Then again, assuming we get our deposit back for this place, that'll be the end of May at worst.

I haven't checked, but probably not. I need an upgrade to be able to run Fallout 4, if that gives you an idea of where I am.

I have to spend the next month packing, cleaning and moving anyway. I'll worry about it if we don't get the deposit back. I've got enough of a backlog to tide me over until then at least.

I've rolled several characters just to try out the weapon arts, bows, and magic. You will like the magic Pol, it feels real solid and you seem to get quite a few soul arrows out of the starting FP pool. I also liked the rapid fire bow spam weapon art, can really put down a plinking.

In the end though I'll be playing the Knight first. I'm just too much of a **** for straight swords and the moveset is perfect with the one handed heavy poke back on a standard longsword this game.

Biggest problem I am facing right now is I just finished 2 runs of Salt and Sanctuary. For some reason they decided on custom non souls controls so now my muscle memory is all wrong. I keep wasting estus flasks because that's the quick attack in Salt. Excellent game btw despite a few annoying platformy areas. I was not playing it to platform but to level up and stab/smash/fireball stuff.

Anyway back to Firelink. Hope stuff settles down for you Pol and you can get to Lothric soon. Smiley: smile

I keep trying to play that one, but my DS muscle memory just won't let me do well enough on it to not get frustrated. It's 2016, game designers. Customizable controls are not an option. Smiley: motz

It's coming back to me pretty quick again. I did also finish that DS1 run before SaS.

Early observations about DS3:

OMFG the screaming from Bloodborne is back. It might even be the same track. Smiley: banghead Miyazaki must have a screaming fetish.
It's purty, the first area past the starting zone is bright and reminds me of Anor Londo, so it's already less oppresive than Bloodborne. (just shut up with the screaming already)
After a pretty gravy start zone and first boss the next zone kicks your teeth in SoTFS DLC style. Gank packs, ambushes, brutal NPC's that will smash down your stamina break your shield, and proceed to stunlock 2-3 shot you without stopping. Just non stop attacks. They must have unlimited stamina. But yeah the area is not holding back on the "This is Dark Souls!" muahahah.
I found a Claymore! So I already did a bit of farming so I could one hand it.
On second boss now. Already have a shortcut dodge mob get back to boss route pretty much down. Will try it again after work.

It's glorious so far. Smiley: jester

Beat the second boss on Knight and promptly decided to roll an Assassin. Wow, great starting character. Got Magic, got stats for bows early, and Estoc just rocks the crap out of stuff two handed. Those mobs that were breaking my shield stamina on knight are getting stunlocked alive by the Estoc, I swear it stunlocks harder than the claymore for way less stamina and weight in this game. Amazing how once you know a zone you can just run it so fast. Just blitzed the wall and already back to the second boss on Sin. Also I like the armor design muchly. Helps a bit I took the fire enchant item/gem as my burial gift and made a fire Estoc asap. :)

I only rolled a thief and stopped at the first Bonfire last night as I didn't get home from work until 10PM. Ran into the first Crystal Lizard of the game but couldn't get it, will try again tonight.

In regards to lizardsThe big mean one in the tutorial zone or the little gem dropping type? I've only found 1 little guy so far on a roof in 1'st zone past firelink. I've heard it's tough to beat the starter zone boss as Thief. The good news for filthy Dex builds though is right after him you can get the (Glorious Dex weapon)Uchigatana!

I parked my knight for now after second boss. Sin is caught up and I am going to continue rocking that for now I decided. Blood sugar dex magic. Smiley: yippee

Noted, and done!

This is going to be hard. I am just excited about the game. Today I was doing stuff in game and then something happened. I love it when that happens. Smiley: tongue I'm trying to sort of play mostly blind right now but that wiki man and reddit, I've seen things.

I've noticed three things so far:

1) Weapon durability is way better than DS 1/2

2) There are actually headshots in this game. Tested on one of the tutorial enemies, body shot with a wood arrow did 80% damage while a headshot one-shotted them.

3) The dogs have an improved version of Bloodborne's dog A.I.

Thanks for the heads up on the katana, it only cost me my boss souls. Smiley: mad
