Has anyone else noticed Steam is delaying charges?
I was checking my bank account last week and noticed a very large charge from Steam (like, full price game charge) and didn't recall actually making any purchase that day.
Turns out it was a purchase I made back on July 11th or so, but it wasn't actually withdrawn from my account until 8/02. I went back through my bank statement and noticed that while the funds had been on hold when I did the purchase, they weren't actually taken until the beginning of the month.
I wonder if they did this so that they could handle refunds easier? (Cheaper). If they don't actually take the money until after your refund period is over, they avoid the transaction charges for refunding money to your account.
Edit:
Seems to be just recently. Because a purchase I made on July 3rd was posted to my account on july 5th (after holiday) like normal.
It actually scared me a bit. I never like seeing money taken from my account when I didn't do it. And I am usually pretty good about remembering when, where, and how much is taken out.
