I've not played it, but was wondering if anyone here has played in the beta?
If so, can you give your thoughts on it?
Also was wondering if it is going to be a F2P game, or a game I buy and get to play all I want (Guild War-ish) or eh?
At their main page I see I can pre-order the game, but in one of the video/FAQ page they talk about how the game is going to be free...why then would someone need to pre-order the game?
(From what I understand, the cash shop is for Avatars and Skins for the Champions (bloodlines)?)

Presumably they mean Free to Play after you buy the box, like Guild Wars.

Fortunately it seems like paying players (especially the $90) pack don't get too many mechanical benefits over free to play players. Mostly you get access to more champions and bonuses to their in game currency.

I am in agreement with Al. While the champions all have a somewhat cookie-cutter set of skills, they are all still pretty unique and fun to play. I only had the chance to play some 1v1s, which got a little repetitive since the smallest map is made for 3v3, but I can definitely see some potential in the game and I look forward to trying it out some more.

I was able to play some multiplayer matches yesterday, and I've gotta say it can be a *********** at times but you really have to know your hero's skills well to be able to use them effectively against a group.
I'll probably keep playing for now, but unless they add more than 4 f2p heroes at a time, I doubt this game will hold my interest.

Funcom is a notoriously bad publisher for this very reason. The very limited selection of f2p champions is an incredibly bad move. LoL uses a similar business model and has enough free champions that it's possible for an entire 5v5 game to consist of unique champions.
It's incredibly frustrating, and not in an "oh fine, I'll buy the game," way but a "forget this," way. And in an solely multiplayer game where the content available to existing customers is proportionate to the number of players they have to play with, it's a very bad idea to drive away free to play player.

Yeah, the game is pretty much unplayable with only 4 free champions. It's not just only being able to play four champions at the start, but continuously playing against the same four free champions. Not even purchasing the game will fix that.
