Meh could care less about another portal. More interested in Episode 3 or just making a Half Life 3.

Psh, I am excited about Portal 2. They are working on a device like that so they can eventually incorporate it into a game like Half Life. Something that will work without being useless or extremely overpowered. Don't get me wrong, I am also excited about Episode 3 but I would rather see game developers working on new ways to play the game than rehashing the same material over and over.
I bought The Orange Box as soon as I got my grubby little hands on a 360. I played and loved Portal and played the hell out of TF2. But I really couldn't be bothered to finish HF2. I say bring on the Portal 2!

I don't really care what I'm missing, I don't like PC gaming. When I game, I like to lean back and relax. You can't do that when you have to bother with a mouse and keyboard.
I'm going to have to agree here, PC > Console in this case. If you watch the speed runs of portal on youtube it is so much easier on the PC when you can use a mouse to point and shoot.
You're entitled to your opinion Turin... your opinion is just wrong. PC > console in this case.

Not to bust your chops here but my wife plays the Sims, Sims 2, and Sims 3 on Windows 7 64bit just fine. Somehow I doubt it is Windows 7 causing the issue, we didn't have to do anything special to get it working.
I spent a pretty penny on my office chair so it is nice and comfy, and my 2 24" monitors do just fine. I agree though that sometimes I just want to sit back on the couch and relax, but FPS's and consoles don't mix IMHO
That is true, you just don't get the responsiveness you need on a console fps than what you would get on the computer. But I would have to agree with Fronglo. Sitting on my couch playing games is more comfortable than on the computer. This is more due to my chair being a cheap **** Walmart chair. :l I tend to wait and see how cross platforms perform and how my current computer will be able to handle it before I choose whether console or computer would be a better buy. This computer is better than my laptop but not by much and I would struggle with some of the games that I enjoy on my 360.
I spent nearly $200 on a nice executive chair, but then again, I spend a lot of time in front of the computer since I work from home twice a week and spend a lot of spare time coding as well.

Honestly, if you need a mouse to play an FPS, you just aren't very good. I have a ton more respect for a decent 360 TF2 Sniper than I do for his PC counterpart. Basically, playing with a mouse is easy mode. I just wish there were more decent console FPS. There are a lot of the FPSs, but not very many of them are good.

Er, what? If you play with a controller, you have a very limited skill cap. With a mouse, your skill cap is virtually unlimited. It takes years to get great at say twitch shots.
Anyone that's spent a few years playing around on the internet already has all of the "skill" needed to play a PC FPS, all it is is point and click. It's much harder to line up a shot with just your thumb than it is with your entire hand.

You must still play FFXI. Being harder or more work doesn't make something more fun.

I have to agree with the general consensus that PC > Controller for FPS. I hate the genre so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but the few that I play (Bioshock, Portal, Oblivion) PC is the only way to go. I've even played Portal and Oblivion on PS3, and I much prefer the PC versions.
