I played Dofus for a while. It is fun. It's a tactical RPG style MMO. I like tactical games like that, so I tried it out.
It has a free version, but it's severely restricted as far as areas you can go and things you can do. It was cheap for a subscription, so I tried it out full after playing it for a while. It was fun, but the community wasn't there. If you didn't have friends to play with then it was hard to actually make a group of regular friends.
Drop rates of set items are extremely low. (Low drop rate = Long play time).
The game economy is not set in stone, item values vary greatly person to person.
It was fun though, I played it for quite a while free, and played it for one of the lowest subscription periods, then free again for a little while.
It is very casual. I few years ago I logged into my account and found out they changed game dynamics (mostly skills and stuff) by quite a bit, and my character had been refunded all it's skill and stat points (it was an archer, good build, but they nerfed it and changed the way the arrow skills worked).
Yeah I guess 2.0 just came out and is quite a bit different from the older systems, complete with class rebalances and such. I actually just stumbled upon this game earlier today and spent a while looking at their website and forums.
I'm glad to hear it's interesting. Sounds like it's worth a shot with the free trial, hell a month of paid subscription is less than $7.00 so it might be worth trying it either way.
I really like concept of the turn-based system and also some of their classes sound fun so I guess I'll be trying it out at some point later this week!
KT, I'll hit you up on MSN later and see what we can do!
