Confirmed - XBox 360 version of FFXIII Sub-HDFollow

While a top notch side-by-side comparison of the PS3 and 360 versions of Final Fantasy XIII has yet to be published by any of the major gaming sites, we have the strongest indication (through analysis), that the PS3 version remains the superior of the two.

A user known as MazingerDUDE, who performs tasks for well respected analysis website Digital Foundry, has revealed that through a study of recent Xbox 360 and PS3 screenshots, that the 360 version actually runs at 576p, which is not HD resolution.

Furthermore, he has also provided a hi-res screenshot of the same image, for both versions of the game – just look at the differences for yourself.

If you still didn’t know what version you wanted to pick up in March, you might do after hearing about this.

Actually, I think the bigger advantage to the PS3 version is that it's a single disk. That being said, I'm glad they reached out to the other console, making the game that much more popular. I can't wait for it to get here :) I'm sure Fronglo and Allegory will hate it, but I don't care :P

The only Final Fantasy game I ever hated was Final Fantasy 12, but oh boy do I hate it with a passion. Well I wasn't a big fan of the pre SNES ones but I just didn't get into any of those RPG's on the NES.

Long as this one don't have that stupid battle system I prob will enjoy it. I will have to complain about it a few times if I get stuck on a boss for awhile though.

I was mostly teasing :) I've come to understand after reading this forum that my requirements for a game to be great are a lot lower than some people's, but that's ok.

Some people may have both consoles, so maybe this will help them get a better version. There's nothing conceited about that.

At least they are not doing what they used to do during the PS2/Xbox/Gc days and just lowering it to work on the inferior systems and doing nothing to make it look better on the better ones.

Wow, I can seriously barely tell the difference. It's pics like these that make me wonder why people care so much about HD crap when the difference is hardly there at all.

I can speak for myself on this one.. I have a 50" TV that I game on. Upscaling looks like complete dookie on a screen that big. What seems like a small difference on your 20" monitor will look like muddy textures and jags on something with over twice the surface area. It's not that I'm a ***** for the PS3 so much as I just want to put information in the gamers hands. If you have a 30" Dynex that goes to 720p then by all means, get the 360 version and rock out on some FFXIII, I ain't mad atcha.
