Hello,

I'm still new to the game, but I don't understand the cloning and insurance.

I played EQ for a while, so I know cloning is kind of like binding, but what is the point if you can just select "return to nearest cloning facility" anyway?

I also don't understand the insurance system. I read in the manual that if you don't insure your items that when you die all your items stay on your corpse. However, i've died several times (after the 3 free) and I haven't lost a single item. Do you only have to insure items once or every time after you die?

Sorry for the newb question, but im don't get it.

What happens with item decay is that if its not insured the decay rate is...5% and 1% if it is??? I 'm not entirely sure on the veracity of this sorry. Items that will decay when you die include clothing, tools, and armor. (If anyone knows better please correct this). Once an items reaches zero "endurance" it is useless and is no longer usuable. Weapon decay happens everytime you use it. Items can be fixed by a competent smith. Armorsmith for armor, Weaponsmith for weapons, etc etc. The only things that seem not to have a repair tool associated with it are; crafting tools, camps, and smuggler tools.

As for cloning...If you die and have not cloned on that particular planet (ie bind when you get into a new zone) You will have stat damage. If you did clone, your HAM bars will reflect your HAM when you did clone. It should be the same at the moment of your cloning. No need to reclone unless your moving areas or planets.

For insurance, well if you die with your items on you, you need to reinsure them again or they will be considered unisured and decay appropiately.
