Server Rollback?Follow

The other night, everyone in Coronet lost connection at the same time. I've seen this happen more than once, and was told it was the server rollback. People lose xp and skills (had to re-learn nov armorsmith and pay again) because of this. Twice it's happened while I was trading back items I had sliced. I felt bad because here I am with someone's weapons, and it looks as if I went offline on them. It also stopped my harvesters, which pissed me off because they were empty and damaged.

Another thing, does this change resources? My great source of hides and bones before, now suck.

Isn't this "rollback" something that can be done when they do the server shutdown every night, instead of during game-play?

I've experienced this as well. The server boots a bunch of people in one area and they all suffer rollback of varying extent based on how recently each character's data was saved. I don't think these brief shutdowns are intentional, unless maybe they are intended to boot AFKers when an area is too clogged.

Either way, the rollback that occurs is definitely not intentional. Don't expect SOE to schedule a rollback that they never intended in the first place.

Resources change periodically during nightly maintenance, but not every night.

i experience a rollback every other day, which does stink, but usually it occurs within minutes of my character data is saved, i think, because i usually have only a few xp or items missing (especially after buying from a vendor LOL).

It mostly occurs in busy areas like Coronet, Theed, and sometimes when entering or exiting city areas. it may have something to do with lag. rarely, i sometimes warp to other parts of PLANETS, with 1000s of xp missing and stuff, but that only happened to me once on Naboo LOL!

oh well, at least you did not get killed or erased, which would absolutely stink.
