I’ve been working on my Master of Battle for Gilneas and Master of Twin Peaks accomplishments in random BGs, usually with a guildie or two in tow. I’d gotten pretty used to seeing battlegrounds filled with the same class mix.
Until last night. Zounds...priests. Seven of us on a side in one BfG match, and generally 3-5 in every game. Hunters, also abundant all of a sudden. It was most amusing to me and my arena partner, a hunter, who have been fighting an uphill battle in 3s with a variety of partners and therefore have the gear and teamwork that most of this sudden surplus of wannabees lacked. We felt like hipster Horde--we played our classes before they were cool.
What I didn’t see were feral druids--I think I saw one all night. Resto druids were out in about the same numbers as before. Considerably fewer frost mages too.
We decided that people are either tired of, finished gearing, or abandoning due to nerfs the classes that were most overrepresented this season, and switching to alts they hadn’t been PVPing with because they thought them underpowered.
Should be interesting to see long the numbers will be skewed like this. I suspect a good number of them will give up in a week or two, after finding out that rerolling didn’t magically turn them into PVP gods. Should be interesting!
