I recently started my account back up after being away for 2 years. I am level 71 and trying to get to 80 to pvp. I read you Can level fasted with pvp. Can someone explain to me further how? Something about pvp holidays? If so what should I do this week/weekend?

Battlegrounds reward experience. Winning them on their holiday weekend does net quite a bit. You can almost always get better and more consistent xp from questing, though.

If you look at your in-game calendar and choose the option to show battleground holidays, it'll show what weekend it is.

Thanks I remember holidays for battlegrounds. I didn't think they were ever more xp then questing though. I read in another post that people were leveling faster doing them.

At L71 you are going to have a pretty hard time taking advantage of it. You are going to contribute to your team doing poorly, unless you happen to be a very well geared (from BC) healer you are not going to live long against L78-79.

That being said, here is what you do.

1. Gather 4 more decently geared, experienced PvPers in their late 70s.
2. Queue up as a group
3. Win BGs fast
4. Earn as much as 1/3 of a level in a single BG.

You have to be GOOD to make this work, as 5 of you have to be able to carry the whole BG. It's very doable, though. If you can win 5-6 WSGs an hour, you can get a level each hour or more.

AV is also good, and offers more XP per win, but the game can often be very slow, and even if you queue with 4 other good PvP'ers it is often hard to carry a team to a quick victory each time.

Ok well that's not gonna work. I have been gone for 2 years and don't know anyone.

Another unrelated question. I want to level up some of my alts how much faster is xp now? I have a 60 Shaman and a 49 Warrior. Is the leveling time about cut in half now?

In my experience leveling is fine until you hit 70, then it begins to slow.

You can level very quickly and "funly" by questing and queueing up for random dungeons and battlegrounds. You get XP from all 3 and I find, especially as DPS who don't get instant dungeon queues, that a nice balance of the three is a fun and fast way to level.

my Warrior is now 75. I did all of 72-74 in one day (Friday), and 74-75 Saturday night. All I did was PvP.
However, I have both BoA chest and shoulders, so when my team wins (Isle of Conquest was this weeks holiday for me, AB next week ^-^) I get 1.5 Bars of EXP.

In my bracket, Horde owns IoC. And when you can win, and win fast..most people re-q as quick as they can.

Additionally to the stuff already mentioned, you can get up to 25% extra experience when you have a level 80 character on the same realm, through Heirloom items that you can get from running random heroic dungeons (chest and shoulders), doing Wintergrasp/running random dungeons (other shoulders), or the fishing tournament (ring). Through dungeon and Wintergrasp emblems, you can also get other Heirlooms that don't give experience bonuses, but still pretty nice stats. That is why getting one character to 80 first is advantageous if you want to cut down on leveling time.
