Lack of new info on EQ2 ZAMFollow

#1 Dec 21 2013 at 5:03 PM Rating: Decent
im kinda wondering why Channeler isnt listed in either the Wiki drop down, or the Database for abilities. Also why are none of the spells past level 90 added into the database? what happened to the quality of info on the game that ZAM used to give? no info on new quests, or who drops what items etc.

We don't get database information from SOE anymore (same reason we don't get level 90+ abilities... have you checked out EQ2Wire for those?), but it should be in the wiki drop-down (here's our wiki guide for it), thanks for pointing that out.

Not sure what you mean about missing new quest info, we have full walkthroughs for Tears of Veeshan quests and have updated our Frostfell page. Mobs, again, are a lack of data from SOE issue. Any time there's a game update or holiday we have most, if not all, the quest info available here though. =)

oh weird i coulda swore when i searched for quests a little while back it didnt come up with anything. How come EQ2Wire gets database info now and you guys dont? they have a lot of the items and stuff but all it shows is who discoed it not where it dropped which is a real shame.

SOE changed to a public data feed and EQ2 Wire did a great job building a system from scratch for that. Since we used the old version of SOE's data it'd be a much more drastic change for us. However we definitely should have most walkthroughs entered into our wiki (that's all we do now is wiki). =)

The longer version of what Cy said is: the SOE public data doesn't have everything we used to get from SOE (like quests), and updating our system to integrate all the old stuff we have with the new data feed will be really involved (especially for incomplete data). The other option is to throw out everything we have and start over with the public feed, and then we'd lose all the awesome info hundreds of players have contributed since launch.

So we wait. When the public info has complete date Cy and I will pitch integrating it with the existing info.

We do keep up on quests and quest series. If you don't see them in the database hit the wiki tab on search results.
