How was your in-game weekend?

Miner 45 → 50
Monk 43 → 44
Armourer 28 → 31
Fisher 00 → 11

Fishing is an unexpected addiction, I can see myself losing a lot of time to this DoL. I had 6 really unfortunate Duty Finder parties to try and beat storyline Garuda, 3 of which were terrible, 3 were good, but just not quite lucky enough. I actually became that shouting guy on Saturday night after another pug where the tank didn't read up on the fight and didn't follow any advice, so much so that I thought: "wow, I'm becoming THAT guy," and logged out for the night. Mostly it was Arial Blast that got us, even if the Tank 2 houred, all in all we had some really bad luck. :(

Started the weekend focused on DoM classes. I took arcanist from 21-30 then unlocked both summoner and scholar. Now I'm torn because I don't know where to put my points. As of now I'm leaning heavily towards summoner. I need to start playing scholar in group settings to see if that type of healing is any fun or not before I decide to drop any points in it.

Thaumaturge went from 19-27. I was getting tired of long summon animations so I wanted to at least get swiftcast to make it easier.

I then started to focus on DoH but didn't get really far because I ended up spending the majority of the time helping a new FC member with questing. I was planning on taking alchemist up to 25 but ended up going one level to 21 and also one level of leatherworking to 26.

Finished rank lll of GC hunting log, worked on more story with my pld, and did some fishing. Currently debating if I should level botany and mining to 50 before I start crafting....and trying to decide whic craft to start first.

Another fun weekend.

Did turn 3 and 4. Healing wrist/waist dropped.
Took SCH from 30 to 50/did relic quest for SCH
Acquired Omnilex
Worked on DL healing gear
Did SMN quest line
Started SMN relic quest which will be the 4th!
Helped friends all weekend with their relics (mostly Titan)

I think SCH is probably my favorite job. If only the pet AI wasn't so damn bad.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

I didn't have as much time to play this weekend due to RL, but I did have a great run on Miner... Almost 50, I geared up for the final run to 50 and should have it soon.

Miner 33 → 46

Other than that not a whole lot... finished up my quest line on Armorer and got the Blue mallet (main hand), and bought the HQ Militia Off-Hand... decided to try to make my own AF helmet for Armorer and made my first 1-star item... a darksteel ingot... HQ'd it first try! Then got sidetracked and started mining for crystals that I needed for it... man, ADD is a b*tch.

Overall I had a lot of fun, I helped Crystal Light get her first 50 - Weaver! Smiley: grin She and I are both going to make a run on DoL jobs to 50 this week... Me from 46-50 on Miner, and she is doing 43-50 Botanist.

Here is a tip for scholar/arcanist/summoner.

Put all points into int, wear only int jewlery for both.

Why you ask....cleric stance. With that on, int becomes your healing stat. DONE! Just my opinion.

32 CNJ/WHM - Completed Haukke Manor finally. Wasted a lot of time on the quest "Doing the Dirty Work" - going to get a few more levels in under my belt because a 30~ish CNJ just can't do it (not enough damage.)

22 BTN
22 CPT

Did the Halloween event. I thought it was kind of cute. I then did a bunch of the main scenario missions in my ghost robes.

Mind if i ask how you did the miner.... I am averaging ~7 evaluation leves per level 40+, and if I buy the exp scroll, and just grind, its about the same speed as leves.

Even with the increased exp, i get bored after about an hour of watching the exp slowly crawl.

I mined in Bluefog (Basilisk Eggs and Cobalt Ores), Moarby Bay (Grade 3 Carbonized Matter), and jumped to Coerthas and Drybone whenever the Dark Steel Ore and Gold Ore Unspolt points popped. I made it a rule not to cheat on leves, so I only did two leves in Mor Dhona per level (usually for the last 100k XP) and broke it up with varying degrees of unsuccessful Garuda runs! It was a bit boring, but I broke it up over Fri/Sat/Sun night so I had rest XP too - and I Spiritbonded all my ilevel 45 gear for Tier III materia too. I also did the provision missions which gave about 50k XP everytime they were up (handing in HQ items).

I leveled 45-50 faster than I leveled 40-45.

I just grinded it out personally, the leves aren't worth it...

Plus when you get to Electrum Ores (level 41+ I believe) it is very fast and also very lucrative!

Well, it happened on Thursday, but close enough.

http://i40.tinypic.com/1pxq8h.jpg

Made myself my first 2-star piece of gear, a HQ Darksteel Haubergeon. Then managed to 5-materia meld to it with Tier IIIs and Tier II Determinations for +18 overall. For just a couple more runs compared to settling on the Darklight, I think it was very, very much worth it. Smiley: smile

Did the Fate grind from 20-26 on THM for swiftcast, then realized I can't use it on SCH Smiley: blush.

Edit: after looking around on the web, it seems I should be able to use Swiftcast on SCH. I was getting an error when I tried. I'll have to look into that further.

At least I got some use out of it while running Darkhold as SMN with the FC. Swiftcast raise is just as good as people have said, and I love the ability to swap pets instantly. I can start a fate by tanking if I'm one of the first there, then switch to DPS after more people arrive.

Other than that, got ACN to 46 and explored Mor Dhona for the first time.

That would be great if it weren't for this:

Quote:
Swaps current INT and MND attribute ratings, while increasing potency of attack spells by 10% and reducing potency of healing spells by 20%. Effect ends upon reuse.

Okay so I'm now in this 46-50 race for Miner... can you explain how to get the unspoilt nodes? Do I need a certain level or gathering ability, or perception?

I want to farm the gold and darksteel ores... (I have ARM and GSM at 50, so that would be sweet!)

O i know, like i said, still just my opinion. If your solo your more likely to go as SMN, and in speed runs you are most likely going to be in DMG gear as schl. About the only time you need the MND is during coil/titan and even then the difference in those points from 15/15 and all 30 is pretty minimal, someone posted that it was a 2% reduction in dmg or something for SMN, and i would assume its the same for heals.

Truth of Mountains acts like a buff, but it's always on when you activate it. When an unspoilt point become active you'll get a system message (same as when something sells at Market Wards). A flashing pickaxe will appear in your minimap (gold for mining point, blue for quarrying) in the direction of the node, you need to follow it to find the node. Each node is active for about 8 minutes real time, so there is no immediate rush. Darksteel node becomes active at 1AM gametime in Coerthas and is slot 3 (it'll take you one or to tries to expose the slot though), and the gold node becomes active in Drybone about 9AM game time and is slot 6. Once you've done it a few times it'll become second nature, it's really easy.

Here is a handy website to bookmark! :)

Had a long weekend that is still going on since I was laid off Thursday.

Kept myself busy IRL, but I did manage Botany 43-50 and numerous failed attempts at Hydra.
