Never took a formal typing class, myself. Would probably go nutty. In general, I started on the net in the mid/late-90's with chat rooms, did some RPing in the old AOL RDIs, branched from there into some indi groups, hopped into MUSHes for even more in-demand speed/output ratio, discovered MUDs from there, generally emphasizing speed over output, and all this went on for a bit until XI. Could perhaps mix random games like StarCraft or Diablo II in, but they were never very chat heavy unless I was BSing with friends.
Being right-handed, I still think it's a shame how much mouse use neuters control potential in the keyboard+mouse scheme for the average user who hasn't dropped $60+ on a gaming mouse. Hell, I have a Razer and barely use the pad below the top row of numbers just because it makes my thumb feel like it'll pop from the joint.
