Everytime i log in a get tells from an RMT.. like within a second of logging in... how do they do that if theyre not physically next to you or on your friends list? Sur e they could go down the search list and send /tell to everyone individually but even at that rate i would think it would take longer than 1 sec after i log in, to find me). So what are they doing?

They are using a script to send out those /tells as there is no one at the keyboard when then are sent.

Achievement Unlocked: 100+ /blist.

I dont even /blist the tells anymore. I could simply just turn on the /shout filter but, I find it so entertaining to watch the nerds fight... Its redundant to say this but we need GM's... Anyway, I have been noticing they are deleting some of these characters so... progress?

Most of your /blist isn't even around anymore.I cleared mine, and never have seen those names anymore.

Won't it have some indication next to the user name if the character has been deleted?

Yes for every two I clean out I'm adding 6.

My only wish is that SE forced some kind of muting function on people that use yell or shout for some allotted period of time. I mean, we've ALL seen it.. The shout bot that FLOODS the **** out of your chat channel as you're loading a town zone. For me, in the time it takes to warp to a town til the time I can finally load the screen, my chat log will look something like this:

It's completely and utterly absurd how fast they are spamming! If I were an admin, I'd make it where the first time you had to be muted, it would be for five minutes, the second time, mute for ten. The third time, you get muted for an hour and then after that, you get muted for a day.

It would be a great way to punish spammers without harming actual players who are shouting Free Company invitations or whatnot. You'd know to "chill out" with how fast you are shouting after a five minute mute, whereas a bot would just get owned. Obviously, the people scripting the bots would change their spam patterns to circumvent this, but even that would be better than watching your chat log blast off into outer space between town zones.

They already have that countermeasure. The problem is it is too simple to bypass, which is why you see their shouts with a single letter different...

They should definitely make it player-based rather than text based. Logic would dictate that if someone is yelling in town that fast that it is harassing all the other players.

They are moving out of the cities in Excalibur now, one was shouting in Bentbranch yesterday while I was mining, and I kept on spelling his name wrong in my blist as it made no sense, and would scroll that fast and the message was that long I'd literally only have a second to see it before it was gone.

Click the name -> Send Tell -> Highlight name -> Ctrl+x -> blist add -> Ctrl+v -> Winrar

It's both funny and sad that a shortcut to blist someone is necessary.

Any idea why /blist add doesn't actually work? I have tried /blist add NAME and /blist NAME add.

And they need to add the blist or ignore function to the right-click NAME.

The correct way is /Blist add "Name"

Doesn't work without the parenthesis.

I made a macro, as suggested by some people in the ZAM FC.

/blist add <r> (with "r" being the last person to send you a tell.)

I put it in button form, so when I get a tell from a spammer, I just hit the button and it says... "Do you want to add Gaardde Rkeymmme to your blacklist?" And I hit yes and it's all done!

Or just type /blist add <r>

EDIT: Kierk beat me to it.

Now if only there was a version of /blist add <r> for shouts... they annoy me far more than the tells do.

I'd just be content with shouts having a 1m cooldown until they get better spam filters and such in place. Side benefit of curbing random chatter about how the game sucks and X game does everything better even though they're in a ******* 40+ zone.

Ya know, on a JP server you almost NEVER hear a shout for anything, other then gil sellers in town. Maybe this is a blessing
