except for the two fates dealing with Odin and Behemoth:

Hello,

The development team is aware of the issue that occurs when a large amount of players congregate for the Odin and Behemoth FATEs that the server can becomes unstable and characters are not displayed properly.

The below two points are high on the priority list in order to address the issue:

•Zone enhancements
There are times that the server will crash when more than 1,000 players gather within a zone. In order to prevent this from happening, we'll be implementing zone enhancements.

•Display prioritization adjustments
FFXIV: ARR has been designed with a system to display the appropriate number of characters while maintaining non-laggy conditions even when there are a large amount of players centralized in a location. However, even though this system is working, for these two FATE there is an issue where Odin and Behemoth are not being displayed. In order to resolve this issue, we'll be putting in a separate system specifically for these two FATE, and addressing it so the enemies are displayed properly even during times of congestion.

As mentioned, these two adjustments are high on the priority list so we can address this issue; however, it will take a little bit until everything is completed. We apologize for any inconveniences until then.

Also, we understand that this same issue is occurring for other FATEs as well, but we are prioritizing Odin and Behemoth as this issue occurs much more often in these FATEs. We'll be addressing other FATE that have a high degree of urgency afterwards using the same methods.

We'd like to address this as quickly as possible and once we have some more information to share we will be sure to let you know!

It would be nice if they realized this is an issue across the board, not just with fates. Often times objects like quest dialog balloons don't display when there are too many players in a zone, which can be quite annoying. Given my druthers, any player who isn't in my party, link shell or free company would be the absolute lowest priority for display in congested areas.

I guess this happening 100% of the time on the Svara FATE isn't "often" enough.

I've done that fate a bunch of times, and i never have had a problem with it. I can't speak for Odin and Behemoth though. It might just be that i haven't done it during peak hours, still, tons of people doing it when i do.

Lucky you, I've never done that FATE and been able to target Svara all the way through it.

The best part is finding out that SURPRISE, you were standing in the breath.

The 3-4 Svaras I've done I was always able to keep it on-screen.

I've yet to see Behemoth.

Did 2 Odins, first he stayed visible. Second I could never keep him targeted, and unsurprisingly the who area got Zan'd.

Why the default priority isn't "Party > NPC/Monster > Non-Party > Pets/Minions" and cutting things off from right to left is beyond me.

What makes it even stranger, is that that is exactly what FFXI does.

Beseiged was sure interesting before that change.

the couple times that Svara had enough people zerging to make him disappear, i noticed turning my camera to an overhead view helped, and helps in general probably due to drastically fewer polygons being displayed at that angle

This is good news, since now I will finally be able to target behemoth and odin to hit them, instead of running around like a blind man spamming blizzard II. I dont mind if I'm standing on top of an invisible someone's head if it means I can hit my target.

It'd be really nice if you'd post a link when you start info threads.

I absolutely did not downrate you in either of the two info threads you posted without links today. I thought I'd just ask nicely instead.

You should simmah down nah.

Also, I searched for the info in your 2.1 endgame nerf thread and got no results. Sure maybe my google-fu failed me, but it's just courtesy to cite where you're getting your info (grease society's wheels and all).

You copy-paste the link, like this:

http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/95755-FATE-model-loading-is-game-breaking-makes-Svara-Behemoth-other-FATEs-unplayable?p=1322194#post1322194

For the record, after you made your post ******** about karma, I kicked yours in the balls on this thread. Don't whine about karma, and don't call people lazy when you couldn't be ***** to copy-paste a URL.

Which makes it easier for you, who didnt have to go anywhere else. And Im pretty sure admitting to downrating out of spite is against the rules here.

That's for the admins. Cry to one of them if you feel your invisible numbers are wounded due to your own intolerance of a simple request. Rules below

X. Karma
If you are rating every post in a thread or a forum, especially in a long thread, up or down, you might be karma camping. The decision is based on an admin review, and we generally take into account the tone of the thread, your past rating history, any user complaints we receive, and how often such incidents occur.

If you are following a specific user around and rating every post they make up or down, you might be karma camping. The decision is based on an admin review of your rating history, their rating history on you (if any), the tone of recent posts you and they made, and if they or you did anything particularly offensive in their posts. If two people want to karma camp each other into oblivion, well that's fine with us.

Threads started in the forum for a group of users to all rate each other up are extremely discouraged.
