I like to mix in my buffs to my macros like (DRG)
/macroicon Keen Flurry
/ac "Keen Flurry" <me>
/wait1
/ac "Featherfoot" <me>
ect..
works great and frees up space on my controller board, works better if the items have the same recast times as well, also like to use Bloodoath/Blood for blood, same timers and what dmg I take from b 4 b gets made up with bloodoath
was just reading other posts about macros figured id share a couple I use

A big defensive Macro is pretty great. I use one that really goes crazy and it's just spammable. No /waiting. (BTW, you need "Quotations" to make /macroicon work).
Only works on classes, you have to delete some abilities to get it to work on jobs:
/macroicon "Second Wind"
/ac "Second Wind" <me>
/ac "Foresight" <me>
/ac "Featherfoot" <me>
/ac "Keen Flurry" <me>
/ac "Awareness" <me>
/ac "Cure" <me>
You just spam this when you are in trouble and when Cure starts going off you will be taking minimal damage. On CNJ this macro starts with Fluid Aura and also has Shroud of Saints in it.
I wanted to mention this one for "Mercy Stroke". Abilities like Mercy Stroke and Haymaker that have to be triggered by something to activate are very simple to add into a Macro.
/macroicon "Bootshine"
/ac "Mercy Stroke" <t>
/ac "Haymaker" <t>
/ac "Bootshine" <t>
Now everytime you try to use Bootshine it will check to see if the conditions for either Mercy Stroke or Haymaker have been met. It will just fire off either one without you having to even notice the trigger went off. You can set up this same Macro for EVERY ability so no matter what you do Mercy Stroke will activate if the condition is met.
Because Mercy Stroke is a Cross-class ability, this can easily be incorporated into your basic attack Macros for any melee class.
On a final note, if you are sick off the constant errors caused by the abilities that are not going off in your chat log, just go into the chat log filter and un-check System Messages > Errors.
