[NA] Notice of All Worlds Maintenance (Sep. 11)

At the following time, in order to add new content to Worlds, enhance instance Worlds, further enhance Duty Finder performance, and to address several confirmed issues, we will be performing maintenance on all Worlds.

During this period, FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn will be unavailable.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

* Clients will update automatically upon launch after the date and time below.

*Because we predict a login rush right after maintenance completion, you may experience a 1017 error. If this happens, please wait awhile and try to login again at a later time.

*Details on the addressed issues will be posted separately.

[Date & Time]
Sep. 11, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to Sep. 12, 2013 3:00 a.m. (PDT)
* The completion time may be subject to change.

[Affected Service]

Besides being bumped out 2x this weekend (got back in easy) and lag I never had until last update I haven't really had any issues, but I'm glad they are getting at the issues quickly. As for Duty finder on Ultros on my tank it was maybe 5-10 min sometimes instant and on Excalibur on my DD it was 30-45 min wait which I inderstand was average anyways, so if they can make that better I'm all for it as well. and Hell who doesn't want New content amIright

I hope they are adding Blacklist as a right-click option. As well as recognizing constant shout spam. Perhaps "jailing" any accounts that are blacklisted by more than 50 people in the span of an hour.

As healer with my wife as DPS on Siren we've gotten into the duty finder queues almost immediately every time. Actually we had to requeue a few times because the DPS didn't join. Logging in I never had an issue, got the queue a few times but got after first refresh.

Well I can't complain about maintenance times, they do it when I'm in bed. Thank you SE.

I can, it's 7pm - 5am for me. Oh well, guess I'll play a lot of hockey instead.

Playing as a healer on Siren, I was able to do the Ifrit storyline fight almost 10 times back to back with no longer than a 1 minute wait in DF. I know it's harder for DPS, but I really do like the system.

Indeed.. hopefully they rotate these the way they did with FFXI's maintenance times.

With a worldwide game, it's impossible not to step on SOMEONE'S prime time, as long as it isn't always NA's though, I'm fine with it.

What they prefer is JP business hours, so their normal 8 to 5 guys don't have to do overtime. For shorter maintenances, they'll do it in JP afternoon to make it land at 1AM EST in the US, or 7AM GMT in EU.

Unless the majority of healers and tanks are playing on servers that are in the other Duty Finder group, I don't see how any changes to Duty Finder will help speed up Duty Finder times for DDs. No changes to the Duty Finder system can make more people play as tanks and healers rather than as DD.

Duty Finder is darn near instant on healer.

I've had to wait on a tank before, but usually no more than a minute. I've also had to wait on DDs to finish whatever it was they were doing so they could actually hit the "commence" button.
