I just don't feel confident that ill be able to preform well in raids...I don't trust the tab target to be quick and accurate enough ect.

I had the same reservations about using a controller, but once I got the hang of switching NPC and PC targets, its pretty easy. In fact, for me it is a little easier than keyboard, because in the heat of battle I would always fat finger the wrong key and end up casting a heal on the wrong person or hit the wrong spell. With the gamepad, you just press up or down on the dpad to cycle through party targets, and left and right on dpad to target non-party targets.

I rock a Razer Nostromo controller and Death Adder mouse and love it. Used them on all my games. mmo's, moba's,fps's.

Any decent wireless controller, Having to dodge the controller cable to get to the keyboard can GTFO. I've been through a couple of Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2's over the years, been pretty happy with them.

Yeah I wont be healing, not my thing. But tanking ill end up doing. I currently play dragoon (like 90 % of all players unfortunately)

My issue is with camera rotation (like during titan watching for those stone encasings) and what you mentioned, accurately targeting a specific mob out of a pack...not really concerned with player targeting.

I really want to buy a controller and save my poor abused fingers (thumbs can take so much more abuse) but then I don't want to end up paddle targeting when **** matters. Hell ive almost rebound tab to something useful as it tends to ignore the three mobs in front of me and will tab to some non fate related mob a mile away that I cant even find its so far off. I don't trust tab targeting with more than a couple mobs on screen.

Im torn.

Ill probably be a puss and just stick with mouse and keyboard, I got unbound macro keys up the wazoo between my naga and keyboard anyway.

I'm using the Logitech F710 Wireless Gamepad

That's that one i use (own 2 of em) and it is one of the best because it has a switch for XInput/DirectInput unlike the old Rumblepad 2.
The only issue i have is that sometimes it looses connection even at 2 feet away. I have to tap the gamepad to have it sync up again.
This problem seems to happen to some only users but aside from that it is a great gamepad.

I have been considering getting the wired F310 one but the wireless one is just so much more convenient.

Wireless 360 for me. As some ppl have said the D pad is pretty meh so I'm looking for an alternative that will work with my wireless receiver.
