Not really. It just means you posted some unpopular opinions. I could easily farm for rate ups off the people here by making "I love Yoshi, this game is awesome" threads. Would I be worthy to talk to after that?

There's a big difference between posting unpopular opinions, and posting flat out lies. You should know that more than anyone.

It's not a lie. I can guarantee with 100% certainty that if I made an "I love Yoshi-P" thread, it would be rated as Excellent. That's how much "karma works".

Try it and see what happens. We would know that you are faking it, because we know you. You had your chance to be truthful along time ago, but you stuck to your guns. How much does your company pay you to do this anyway?

Anyone who thinks that this launch was bad has never played DC Universe Online. The game has been live now for 2 years and still has more problems then FFXIV, lol.

I would like to say that I have a huge gripe about the launch, but given that the game's problems are due to its overwhelming and unexpected popularity, rather than crappy technology or incompetent management, I really have to just suck it up and feel sorry for Square over all the players they'll lose up until the server upgrades are in place next week.

I probably mentioned this elsewhere before, but while -we- might think it's good if the amount of players eventually dies down a little so everyone can login, you have to look at this from SE's standpoint too.

They could have two, maybe three, times the subscribers (and the income) if they didnt have this whole server mess thing. I've been dying to play all week. If i didnt (finally) get to login earlier, i probably would have left myself as well.

People who would have subscribed to the game are probably not going to do so anymore if they havent been able to even play this game, or atleast are going to seriously reconsidder if they want to subscribe if they havent been able to play themselves.

SE might be happy that they now have 250.000 active players logged in at all times (their theoretical max), but that could have been 500.000 or even 750.000 easily if they would have sorted their **** out.

Would be better for us as well, as SE would put an infinite amount more effort into their game with 750.000 subscribers than they will now with only 250.000

Are we still saying "this is a good launch compared to other games"?

Most of my friends still can't log in due to 1017 or other errors at the time of writing this message.

Can we all agree that this launch has been a huge disaster which lost Square Enix tons of money in pre-order/subscription cancellations and refunds?

I really hope it doesn't hurt the game's future/subscription base. I feel like if the game is successful, the classes I want to play will get released faster. But at this rate I'm worried.

I am sure you can find Yoshi P and complain to him personally instead of regurgitating the same complaints on here over and over.

Wow, it's amazing to see people speak of Yoshi so reverently when everything he's said makes it clear he has little to no control over what's going on yet the fanbois/fangirls are convinced he's some sort of demi-god with the power to fix everything.

I'm rating you up on this one. Know why? You included fangirls for Catwho. Well done sir!

Twice as many people playing the game the first day concurrently, and perhaps twice again as many trying to get on, as there were total accounts ever on the old version?

And all without more than an hour of maintenance since official launch, and even that little bit only being the lobby server?

And now we're getting extra on our free month?

Did you really just make a day one 'FFXIV is dieing' thread?

Oh **** Raelix, I accidently rated you down. It was a reflex, because you share an avatar pic with kiluah! I am so sorry!

Is it possible to simply block a user? So you don't see their posts or threads?

I've looked around but haven't seen it.

It just collapses their posts as if they were sub-default. It's rather pointless. Just let karma work.

This has not been a "normal" launch or "average".

You're right, this is better than average. The servers may be capped but people have been able to play all week long. Maybe not everyone, and God knows this isn't perfect, but the fact is the game is running, and it plays well. The only issue these is is that there is t enough room for everyone, which they're fixing.

Edited, Aug 30th 2013 10:59pm by Ryklin

The reason it's "running" is that they capped access to servers to a paltry 5,000 - and with no AFK auto boot.

Of course the servers are "running" - they're not being taxed.

Between all the down down, registration errors, caps on logins/character creations, customer support disasters, etc. this is one of the worst launches.

Maybe in Asia it's normal but by western standards its FUBAR.

I don't think you're remembering correctly. I distinctly remember WoW, GW2, SW:TOR, and Rift, just to name a few, being as bad or worse than this launch for the first couple weeks, if not longer. They all went through similar growing pains. Even though SE has had to cap their servers, they've kept them up with remarkably little downtime, and those who play are playing a very polished and smooth game. All in all, it's one of the better launches I've seen.

Sure, it's not perfect, and there are some bumps in the road. But it's not terrible, and certainly not FUBAR.

God...SWTOR had to be the worst launch ever. I was pulling my hair out when they launched. The problems they had were crazy bad. And even though I stayed with the game for several months I actually left a few months before they went F2P.

Well I am starting to want my money back. I paid for a game and can not play it. I have stayed off the servers for a week to avoid all this and didnt even try to log on. It is a holiday weekend and Tes is out of town and just want to play. All i get is a greyed out start button and cant connect to server and it boots me completely out. The longer I don't play the more I wish I had not bought this game. It does not matter how good it is there are allot of good games out there. I got booted from EA and have not been able to play sense. Tesee's account is still messed up because there support is so backed up and they don't want to bring in more help.. Company is out of money it seems and had to release a game before it was ready just to get money to finish it up.

Quit comparing other games launches to this one I didnt buy those other games and could care less about them. I have 3 days off and want to play and the stuff should be better by now but they are worse, how can that be,
Because they had bad launches it makes it ok for this game to have a bad launch that makes no sense.

You don't post "unpopular opinions". You post verbal diarrhea in the form of troll posts.

Go ahead and create your thread. We both know you'd be sub-defaulted simply because it's you posting it and we know what you'd be doing.

The character I rolled on Lamia, the "new" server added during EA, got in three times today. (I'm having some random crashes when I teleport but I'm more inclined to blame a dusty computer or Windows 8 than I am the game about those. Gonna break out the canned air tomorrow.)

Three times without a 1017. During east coast prime time. Amazing. The 4th time I was queued at 6.

Just roll on a goddamn new server and play and stop complaining that you can't play. Roll in a different city state than your main so you can cruise through the different storylines. Then when your main character's server is more freely available, you can always go back.

If the early levels weren't s mind numbingly boring and monotonous I might do that.

Being new to FF i figured the early levels were designed for people enamored of FF lore; fro everyone else it was a sort of penance you had to pay for being new.

Dude. Dude. The Final Fantasy aspect of this game isn't going away. It's only going to get more and more ingrained.

Just quit already if you despise the franchise that much. Why play something you don't like?

Because it's pathetic that someone is wasting their time on a game they find boring, and complaining about the game they find boring? Actually, I feel sorry for anyone who has so little life that they feel forced to play a game they don't like simply because they already bought it once. You can still probably return the game and use the credit to get a game that is more to your liking.

It's not like FFXIV is the only MMO offering on the planet.
