Which city is the most awesome?Follow

I'm starting a new character soon and I wanted to know which city was the best to start out in. I played in version 1.0 and started in Gridania before. I thought the city was ok, but the areas around it were horrible and like a maze, no freedom at all.

I just was curious, has Gridania changed for the better in ARR and is it more fun to play at now? I already tried Limsa Lominsa and its very cool. Just curious, let me know what you guys think. I know it's a matter of opinion, but I want to hear yours.^^

They're all kind of bland and annoying to navigate. Lots of annoying hallways and just not very open. The surrounding areas in all 3 starter areas are a joy to explore though. Can't wait to get to some of the higher level areas.

Ul'Dah all the way. I hate Limsa, and Gridania is no Windurst!

During beta I created characters in all 3 towns and I have to say Limsa Lominsa is by far my favourite - it's like San D'oria by the sea with the added naughtiness of Pirates!
Even their flag is in the San D'orian colours.
Edited to add - Gridania reminded me of Windurst - too long and windy and all the tree talk.
Uldah is like Bastock in the middle East. Too industrial and nasty mine sites in the starter areas

I first saw a sunset in LL on the upper deck a couple days ago and was like DAMN thats the best sunset in a game EVAH!

Limsa Lominsa is my favorite. But really I don't enjoy the cities that much. Only in them for a few moments then leave.

Personally hate Limsa because its so flipping confusing for me to navigate around. I like Grinidia for the simple design and Ul'dahn is just right, its big but easy too navigate around.
Which ever city you choose activate those Crystals for quick transport.

Wow thanks for all your replies!

So Gridania isn't that great huh? Did they change the city at all in ARR from 1.0?

I'm torn between Ul'dah and Limsa. I really love Limsa and its scenery and architecture, but I think Ul'dah has more interesting NPCs. I don't find any of them very hard to navigate except maybe Limsa at times, it depends. I just get confused about what's on which level.

gridania is bar far easiest to navigate. Uldah is massive and has the best (most useful) crafting and gathering disciplines. Limsa has the best views and surrounding areas and is confusing as hell and only has 2 classes. Fishing and Culinary are fun but not that useful...i dunno

I haven't been to new Grindania yet. Limsa and the surrounding area is really gorgeous.

early impressions for me is gridania by far. Ul'dah is brown, just really really brown. which even in the 40 minutes i put in there started to depress me. Limsa is beautiful, but the accents all the npcs have grates on my nerves some. Maybe i'm just a secret nature lover
