I have a solution for you! You all need to move to UK time.
then you can play without those pesky NA prime time getting in the way. :)

I got on to the login screen at 6 PM tonight. 6:35 PM, no dice. 9:10 PM, still no dice. Button mashing the login for a bit after that finally worked.

I'm putting my money on "totally random", and having nothing to do with how long you've been sitting at the login screen.

In that case, I would pick one of the 12 Final Fantasy 14 Gods and choose an appropriate sacrifice.

You know what? That gives me an idea for dealing with this 1017 error. I'll post back with results later.

EDIT: Nope. Didn't work. By the time the ceiling fan was on high the cat was already running down the stairs, and I didn't have time to flush the empty canisters of aerosol (probably would have just clogged the toilet anyways).

Sounds like this person was on the right track...

I'm suddenly having flashbacks of people trying to get up to the Kirin floor in {sky} in FFXI. We had all sorts of theories - if you stepped on the teleporter when the in-game clock was an even number, you hit the Kirin floor, odd number was pots. No wait, that's if you're a male character. No wait, that's if you're a Tarutaru.

A friend of mine found his best luck came when he was running at the teleporter with aggro on him screaming "auuuuggggh!" in /shout.

In reality, it was just a coin toss, but it sucked when you were the poor person who flipped tails ten times in a row. Smiley: bah

They eventually fixed that ******* blatant, pointless time sink didn't they?

After literally the entire population had all their sky gear of course, came in handy for re-getting those abj. for synergy though... Smiley: dubious

I been noticing a trend that people mass log in on the FC at the top and bottom of the hour. I kept getting 1017'd until I made the choice to log in at 5:30p yesterday and was immediately put in queue. 20 minutes before, I was getting bounced. Left it for 10 minutes, got bounced again. Tried at the bottom of the hour and was in pretty easily. Give that a shot?

If you get 1017 its EXACTLY as you say. The queue itself is short. 100 players. 1017 is when the queue is full.

0 on your numpad acts as enter. just keep mashing it (but watch out cause the queue has a cancel button).

source: had to do this yesterday and it works.

I've seen my position in the queue as high as something like 217. The queue length is probably still quite short, but it's higher than 100.

Guessing 250 or 299. I've never been higher than the 200s.

Macroable Keyboard > 1017
I turn the macro on, walk away, and come back online or bouncing in and out of a queue, I just turn it off and then I login just fine. I've gotten in every single day since early access.

I saw 387 in queue once, but then after a couple minutes I got booted back to the character selection.

Hey BTW, I was clicking very quickly last night and it seemed I entered the queue and then more X pressing (using the controller to login) actually exited me from the queue.

Does that mean that rapid fire controllers do not work, since extra X presses exits you from the queue?

if we are throwing out random crap that seems to work for us, what I have been doing is getting 1017 about 10 times while smashing numpad0, then restarting the game. So far 3 days in a row this has gotten me immediately in, or into a queue that worked after the relog.

I've noticed that if you rotate your character on the character screen to view their backside, then wait the 30 minutes, it seems to work better. I'm 3/3 so far doing that!

I was getting 1017 error yesterday for an hour and then the queue finally available. I thought I was able to log in soon but got 1017 again. Long story short took me 2 hrs to get into the game.

Let me guess, you play female Mithra? 30 minutes huh? You may need to see doctor.
