Gameplay after Level 20Follow

#1 Aug 27 2013 at 2:23 PM Rating: Decent
Hey Guys,

I have just got my Pugilist to level 21, I have done all the quests for my level in the Thanalan areas, exhausted my leves for the time, done all my class quests and completed each guildhest once. I am currently just queuing to do the final dungeon story quest (Tam-Tara). After this, what do I do to level up? Can someone please give me some decent details because I am extremely confused... People in game just shout at me "Kill stuff, do Leves and keep queuing for hest's/story missions" but surely that's not the meat of 20-50.. right? Any detailed help would be great :)

Make sure you're mixing some FATEs in there. I just did Toto-Rak myself on my own pugilist, and I was 25 by the time I was done with it. Do your hunting logs as well.

EDIT: Read that wrong, Tam-tara should have been some time ago. Make sure you're staying current on story quests.

I'm sure your story will help out. Tam-Tara is the second story dungeon, Copperbell is next. You'll have Grand Company stuff to do after that, as well as new areas. You'll be fine with stuff to do.

So after the dungeon story missions it should pick up? What should I do while queuing? Also, you say mix FATES in, but with what? The areas are now barren for me :(

Kill random stuff, do fates when they pop?

Also you can go to a similarly leveled area in a different region and do quests there.

Don't forget Guildleves. Or go exploring. Gain access to as many Aetheryte camps as you can while waiting for Q's to pop.

Once you finish TT and Copperbell Mines, the main story really opens up. Alternatively, you can level a craft. As a PGL, I'd suggest Goldsmithing or Leatherworking to 19 at least, for Materia melding. That means also leveling Botany (for LWing) or Mining (for GSM) so you can consistently get materials.

Keep pushing through your story quest and you will always have something to do. I only suggest you do it on your preferred class and save other quest for other classes.

Brilliant, thank you for the info guys. I was rather worried as I was walking into level 20-30 zones and they would be just full of monsters, leves and FATES and that was it =/ I'll try to get the story done but the queues are horrendous..

I'm not even far enough along to know what the queues are even for... but if it helps, I did read something where people suggesting changing your language from English to All, or something like that - and it would drop your queue time drastically. I'm just regurgitating some vaugue info I read somewhere, so don't hold me to that.

Good luck.

Wait, so the dungeons are essential to progress the main story?

Hunting logs are good exp as well as FATEs. Sometimes better than quests. Then as you gain levels new quests open up.

Not all, but many.

Yikes, guess I'll have to do them on my 2nd class then to meet level requirements. Thanks!
