I'm staying logged in all dayFollow
If my play time wasn't 1am-4am PDT, when logging in is smooth sailing, then I'd consider doing the same. But that's only if I got screwed over the day before, like the OP.

I just got home, spammed x for 4 minutes at login screen and got in. It has been like this every day since I preordered. I'm on ultros. People are overreacting big time, it wil get fixed

lol feel fortunate and dont think your example represents what many are experiencing minutes as opposed to hours

Just don't alt-tab, you may get booted like I did from a client crash. Apparently alt-tab and dx9 client doesn't mix well for some people's computers...

Run the game in borderless windowed mode rather than true fullscreen. You lose some performance in SLI setups, but you don't have THAT problem.

Are people really spamming though or just trying once every 10 minutes. I'm no sure about the login process on pc but on my ps3 I just press x over and over til I win a prize lol

I try once every 3-10 minutes. No luck for 2+ hours. I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and explain to my significant other that the computer will remain on during the day.

It should stay on anyway. Power consumption in modern PCs is minimal, and constant shutting down and booting later causes more stress via thermal expansion than just leaving it on all the time.

What about sleeping it? I do that all the time, turn it off way less frequently
After reading this thread I called my wife and had her log my character in for the evening. She just sent me this email:

All excellent points. I find just saying "Yes, Dear" to issues such as this allow me to win on the things I really want.......like the new computer that she's asking I shut down at night. :)

I stayed logged in from last night, just hoping I am still there when I get home. I would feel about it but at least on Excaliber its the only chance of playing before 1est.
Well, I was logged in, but got hit by 90000 at the end of a very long cutscene and now I've been 1017 for the last 20 minutes. I've been trying non-stop to get in (with the exception of typing this) and no luck. The last few times I've been 1017, it's taken me at least 4-6 hours to get through, I'm not too optimistic this time.

I'm sorry, I made this account after reading this. I just need to say that this action is so low, you shouldn't have given up your self respect for a game. Thanks to the kinds of you there's so many people can't even make a character, shame on you for making the good title looks bad. Thanks to this issue, the rating for this game on mmorpg.com dropped from 8.26 down to 6.2. though its not important, this issue give a bad name to this game we dearly enjoy.
However I and many more have filed a suggestion and feedback regarding the Anti-AFK system.

It's a game, and nothing more, a game should be something we enjoy not sell our soul to, and in this case your own self respect and pride. Not to mention its an MMORPG, meaning you should be sharing the enjoyment, not to cause grief. This act is very selfish, and low. Remember Karma's a *****.
