I applaud SEFollow

The only thing more annoying than this thread is the fact that everyone keeps quoting the other three paragraph posts.

Chill out everyone. At least the Annunaki haven't returned yet.

I'm liking everything they've done so far today. They are sending Server wide ingame messages alerting that they are aware and that they are working on the resolution. Then when they get the resolution they let us know and take it down for a couple hours... giving all the gamers time to properly refresh themselves. Then they let us back in and say "Happy Travels" and leave us to our adventures. The forced breaks are good for all the gamers... it's not like you are losing out on progress while you nap and others continue to play. Eat, Sleep, take a walk and stretch. Return and continue where you left off no worries.

So, two 3-hour maintenances... BOTH failed to address the problem they were meant to address.

*clap clap clap* We applaud you, SE!

I for one am happy that SE is going to the extents they are today. While I may not be able to enjoy the game as much as I’d like or hope to. I am amazed at the turn they have taken to resolving issues as quickly as possible. Even if it takes them a few tries to get things right, the fact I can go to their twitter and receive an update in a somewhat timely fashion. This gives me hope that SE has learned from the mistakes they made in 2010 with 1.0 and even more recently with the P4 issues.
While some people are happy spewing vitriol on SE attempts at releasing a game, all I have to say is buck up. No MMO has released perfectly or smoothly regardless of how many years they have worked on it or how many games they have released.

This for people should be no surprise right now, either hold your tongue or don’t post. The negativity isn’t getting you or anyone else anywhere. If things don’t shape up after a few weeks then SE has an issue.

For those who vested into the EA with the right intentions we should be able to cope with what is taking place. We vested into this endeavour to help SE get things right. The ones crying the loudest are those who treat every MMO like it is a race to claim the first prize. To them I say good riddance hardly are they the types to stick around for the long haul and really contribute anything to the community of the game.

Solider on SE, solider on!

Applaud them for what? Not fixing anything?

Lol! And kudos to the OP and a few resummarizations of the point. They're working on it, in all aspects.

I'm not going to hate on SE for any of this, but there is certainly a difference between the launch of this game and the launch of Guild Wars 2, which is a game that I find to be a polished-yet-hollow shell of an MMO.

Some of my ARR beta experiences were more smooth than actual game launches, but today's launch feels more rough around the edges than most betas.

Go figure!

The following is the current situation regarding the issue wherein players are unable to access instances for Worlds under the North American/European Data Centers.

In regards to the emergency maintenance that was implemented earlier, we have resolved the issue for the confirmed character data for certain players that were having that problem.

For the issue with the server in charge of connecting players to the instances, we are still experiencing heavy traffic and are working on a solution to improve the server.

We are currently concentrating all of our efforts to address this issue, so we appreciate your continued patience while we work to address this matter.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

This just from SE.

And for all the people mocking the OP go back and read it. You have all clearly missed the points I posted. Please prove to me this world is doomed because you demonstrate you lack 1/4 of your brain.

We ALL knew what kind of company Square was when we got into this game. It's not like it's any shock that everything they do is needlessly convoluted and counter intuitive. 2.0 is a vast improvement over 1.0 and the "F U, find it your own damn self" attitude of FFXI. at least they are no longer acting like we greatly offended them by having the gall to play their game, and ask to be kept in the loop, or to be given guidance. Yoshi P is a godsend for Square, but he is only one man. If you want real change, open a Paypal account, collect funds, and buy Yoshi a whip.
