90000 is back again. Got booted a few seconds ago, and now tells me that it can't find world, even though all characters and world are listed.

Same here, this is one of the worse launches Ive seen. Yes I know SOME mmos have bad launches, but the same mmo twice?

Seriously? They brought the servers down for maintenance earlier, that is probably what is going on now. Besides the fact that today isnt technically launch.

In essence it is because there are more playing now than will arrive on launch day so yes this in effect is launch

That makes no sense. By default it's not possible for there to be more people playing now that the actual release. I would agree that this should be considered an official launch in the eyes of SE though.

Either way, if they are bringing the game down for maintenance I am OK with that. If this is going to keep happening, then I would be with you on a terrible launch.

More are in right now, then will join us on tuesday

We have confirmed the reccurence of instance-related issues on the NA/EU data centers and the team is testing a fix.
Once the test has been confirmed, we will hold another emergency maintenance for the NA/EU data center. We'll follow up as we have more info

I sincerely hope this is a permanent fix and not a workaround, which is what seems to have been what they used between P4 and today. I don't care about the lack of playtime, i'm more concerned about the negative aspects concerning the game's launch.

Got kicked out and couldn't get back into game. JP servers seem to be OK though. I may as well just create a new char on JP server

So..are the servers down or just a bunch of players, because I just got kicked with the 90000.

Was doing a quest when i got stuck in an instance with a whole bunch of other players. Alt F4 out and now client can't update the NA/EU server list. Oh well, i had a great time while it lasted at least.

I confirm getting kicked. Hopefully they will inform us about it with a time window.

They tweeted a few minutes ago that the servers were taken down for a fix, and provided it worked as they wanted, the maintenance would begin to implement on all NA/EU servers. There wasn't a notice, but in this situation, i'd rather them hop to it and get 'er done. A great deal of people can't do anything that involves instancing or the like, so i'm sure all is forgiven if this actually works this time around.

And then people would whine that they are treating players like beta testers for their fix if, for any reason, it didn't work.

I can't see the NA Servers, but can log into the Japanese ones just fine. Meanwhile, the server I was kicked out of is up and running fine as my roommate is running around 10 feet away from me on his PC. I'm on PS3. :/

SE, I'm losing a lot of respect for you. After testing the beta, I had high hopes you had made a solid MMO, but if this keeps up, I'm not going to pay for the first month. I'll just wander back to 11, or take a break and try again in a month.

its still a solid MMO; they are just having backend server issues. It's not like 1.0, where they were having backend server issues AND backend game engine issues. To my knowledge the whole NA/EU servers thing is new for SE so it's no surprise that if something was going to go wrong, that would be where it would happen.

This is #FFXIV Producer/Director Yoshida. Currently, the Dev. Team is optimizing the NA/EU data center Duty Finer to handle the traffic. Additionally they are working on resolving an issue where irregularities in some JP character data are causing partial server downs. We've determined the causes for both issues and are in the midst of confirming the resolutions, so please hang on a bit longer. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the high volume of traffic and technical issues.

Agreed. These are something that is not within their direct control overseas, so it takes more time and coordination to get it fixed. It's annoying, to be sure, but i'd rather it be issues relating to connection versus the overwhelming number of game-breaking bugs at 1.0 launch. That being said, it is something they obviously want to fix NOW, as well they should. It's bad juju if it continues.

I got the 90k error twice during Beta 4 near Uldah, running past the city. Did they ever say what the error was? Microsoft blue screen of death had endless numbers this has just two.

It's the general "Connection lost to the server" error. Which is why now that the servers are once again at the breaking point, we're seeing it again here and there.

Happening to all my accounts on the NA server. Nothing but 10102 or 9000 errors. Good job SE.

Is 10102 the love child of 9000 and 3102?
