D3 which was terrible. 1.0 which was terrible. Mists of Pandaria, which has been pretty good.

I haven't been excited for a single player game since FF10. I can't play one for more than 10 minutes. FFXI, Diablo 2, and Counterstrike gave me more entertainment than 500 single player games could ever hope to.

Well considering I played FFXI for 6 years, and bought 1.0 the minute it came out, and have been waiting ever since for the remake to come out... Oh...

Never! Smiley: nod

I see a lot of people that were disappointed with D3 (lol, who wasn't right). Have you ever tried the F2P Path of Exile? I do not usually play F2P games, but this one, to me, was what D2 should have been. Very complex and very hard at times, and the cash shop does not try to drain your entire bank account. It is no substitute for FFXI and now FFXIV, but it is worth a try if you are craving a more than decent ARPG.

I was super stoked for EverQuest... and I played it non-stop for 7 years and to it's highest levels up until Plane of Time (downed Quarm) when I finally quit. I was really stoked for Too Human, and while I am one of the few who really liked it and still own it... overall it was a letdown compared to the hype it generated.

Skyrim got me excited as well as ESO and FXIV 1.0 and AAR

I'm willing to give ESO a shot, while still playing AAR..... my head is already starting to eplode thinking about playing both at once lol

skyrim got me a bit hyped too yeah..but i was a bit disappointed, the game itself wasnt anything special, what made it worth it were the mods made by the community tho

I'd say either Mass Effect 3 or Dragon Age II, i know, i'm such a bioware fanboy. Aside from that, nothing. FFXIV:ARR is first on that list, though ME3 is a damn close 2nd then DAII. I am super excited about tomorrow and even though I keep telling myself i'm going to get to sleep early tonight, odds I won't be able to sleep and be up all night playing ME3 multiplayer to help pass the time.

I think I have to go way back on the N64 launch day and go with Super Mario 64. Back in a time when Nintendo could do no wrong.

I should also mention that I think I've gotten my wife excited for the game, too (release date will be the day of our 1-month 'anniversary' of being married Smiley: grin ). She's a big Aion and Guild Wars 1/2 fan, which is totally cool (I'm big fans of them, too), but I've been trying to convince her of the game as well. I think I've succeeded. :) I haven't seen her looking forward this much to a game since Guild Wars 2 (and Animal Crossing :) ).

Speaking of Animal Crossing, I seriously need to create some ARR related items for it.

This, this, this, this, a 1,000,000x this! I was beyond excited for that game and share the same view on it. I was like this will be a game of epic proportions!.....only to be dropped out of an airplane from 50 miles in the sky...

Personally, I cannot remember. I think maybe Dark Souls came close. (Best game ever!) How about you? And why? Did that game live up to your expectations? I literally CANNOT stop thinking about FFXIV: ARR. It is getting ridiculous!!! I fee like a crack fiend!

I know the feeling...i am trying to reign in the excitement, because reality never measures up. Probably the last time i was this excied for a game was....XIV 1.0 lol And yes, Dark souls is one of the best games ever.

Probably Starcraft 2 HOTS, rest of the games I've purchased in this year have been on sale of some sorts.

It would have to be Falllout 3 or Skyrim. I grabbed Oblivion on a whim and had my mind blown for 200+ hours. Ever since then Bethesda RPGs have been like crack for me. I platinumed Skyrim a few months after it released. I am playing the Dlc now to kill time for this game. I am also looking forward to ESO. The way that your skills improve just by actually using them in Elder Scrolls games is just genius.

It would have to be Warhammer, I played it as a table top game, painted all the metal figures, spent as much time as I could in their shops pouring over books buying special paint etc. I was so excited when they said they were making a Warhammer video game................then they released it and everything sucked.
