I wish people would read before they posted these threads. It makes situations look worse then they usually are.

So you just decided to buy the game. You're excited about it, and want to discuss the game in the forums they provided you. You see many different forums you'd like to learn about, ask questions to and discuss with others. Lore. The FATE system. Crafting. Even a place to communicate to your fellow adventurers for your server. Unfortunately, you are new to the game and you are only allowed 3 posts per day.

Now not that I am a heavy forum poster. I had 200 in beta, and the majority were discussions for feedback purposes. When I get a character to 50, and can post 20 posts a day, and create 5 threads per day, I highly doubt I will ever do that many in a single day. But if I was inclined to do so, I should be allowed to join the various discussions.
They want to hinder spam, multiple thread creation, and overall trolling. Kudos. But at the expense to others that adhere to normal tried and true forum policy guidelines isn't the way to do it.

Until these strict posting polices are lifted or adjusted to reasonable measures, each post I am allowed to will go to voicing my dissatisfaction.

I gotta call BS on this one:). You know you wanted to troll it:).

On a side note, I hope that it doesn't drive other people away. I was actually really happy when the trolls started leaving the ZAM forums for the Beta forums...

This was my home for 11, and since 14 has been, well, we will call it less than abysmal, there has really been nothing much to post about anything, or to read that wasn't troll-bate or otherwise.

I can't wait to get my initial tanking gearset up, and to get some info on minions going soon, and share it with all.

Which, on a side note, for all you crafters, beware the trap that is the Dullahan (and the Vangard for that matter). It is an awesome minion that is specifically designed to pull Darksteel out of the economy. Given the current difficulty of creating darksteel nuggets, the abundant supply of Darksteel ore and nuggets out there, and the OBSCENELY difficult process to get new ones, I have a feeling those pets are going to spike in price once people start running out, and the gear, which is still pretty good is going to also spike significantly.

Each Dullahan costs 9 Darksteel Ore (3 Nuggets) to make. I have not even seen the node that spawns that you can get Darksteel from, but it is a * node (for those that don't know, these nodes have a 10/20/30 minute apparently random spawn time, and require you use 300 GP before you can even start gathering from the node, but, you typically get 3x items per attempt, and get 1 additional attempt per node, and are level 50).

Hopefully the nodes appear in the Early Access... but I digress...

Thank god I am not the only one that loled with the situation.

What really gets me is the 15min restriction per post. I mean come on!!

Keep hearing there were a lot of trolls in 1.0 forums...so? The job of an admin/mod is to moderate the forums and delete/close threads ban (temporarily/full) people and give warnings all around. If they had that many trolls it only means the admins didn't know how to do their job or SE didn't give them enough power.

With that been said I will post in that thread. It's the "I should make this 1 post count) situation I said in the other thread. I shall put it to good use.

When I was browsing the beta forums, I noticed a lot of threads that kept repeating the same topic that was raised many times before. I also noticed how staggering the post count in the English forums were. The English general had about 4000 pages while the Japanese general had about 400.

Okay forum mods can react to those situations. Heck, they can ban those that refuse to adhere to the forum polices and guidelines. How about they take corrective actions on those instead of punishing the rest?

I am a new player and need help with something I can post in "New Player Help" without restriction.
Should I be having a problem with my account I can post in "Technical Support" without restriction.
If I have encountered a bug in game I can post in "Bug Reports" without restriction.
What I can't do is just is just spam general guff all over the place, and should I feel like I really need to post even more I can always use google to find extra places like Zam who are more than happy for the extra traffic.
This is in addition to the fact most players don't even bother with the forums, and nor should they be required to enjoy the game.
All pertinent information and links to support should be within the launcher, which half the players don't even bother to read given the questions you normally encounter in these games.

I'd limit the English forums too honestly :\ It was literally like walking into a room of people shoving and yelling over each other and repeating the same things 7 times over and over using the excuse "I didn't see this posted yet but I didn't choose to go past the first page."

At that point, wouldn't you just say ***** it and throw in universal limits? Otherwise the English forums would get horrible like it did in Beta lol.

Considering the forum is only accessible to those that have active subscriptions (like in FFXI), I doubt it can ever reach those levels in the first place.

I understand the majority of you are happy with sites like ZAM for your community gaming needs. I personally haven't actively participated in ZAM for years. I've been a member of it for 20 years, with some paid subs thrown in on occasion. I have no large post count, so you can see I am not someone who posts a lot. This is true for most forums I subscribe to.

For better or worse, I've stayed with the games official forums. That is where I want to post. You wouldn't agree to those restrictions here. So why should those that prefer posting on official forums?

Sooo.. let me get this straight.. you only care about yourself and if it doesn't bother you than everything is A OK? thats like saying "well i dont need a wheelchair why does this building need a ramp" Not everyone is gonna rush to 50 jsut to get forum up to its max potential. Seems like SE is taking things alittle to far with the rules.

I must have had...100-ish (perhaps less) posts in the Beta forums.

But most of them, I mean, 8/10 were over 1,000 characters, for a variety of reasons. Same goes for Zam and everywhere really, small / tiny posts are in the minority where I'm concerned.

I do value good (read: non-troll-ish) debate however.

So they essentially want Twitter forums.

Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking too.

A 1000-character limit on posts in discussion forums severely limits the feedback that players are able to provide about the game, at least in the obvious place to provide feedback about a game. It's a step backwards on their path to better communication with the community.

Either that or they really just can't be bothered to read anything longer than a paragraph.

I rarely post in forums so I read way more than I post, those rules make the site just a Q&A for the game. So as a rank 40 you can create 3 post a day with a space of 1 hour apart unless it's the 3rd Tuesday with a blue moon rising then you only post once with a character limit of 42 unless the thread is popular, then it really gets complicated. Smiley: lol Who needs administrators if the posters follow those soup **** rules. No post for you!
