PSA: Upgrades, pre-order, early access... oh my!Follow

So I preordered the standard edition on ps3 BUT digitally from the playstation store. I didn't get a code or anything for the early access but it did say I GOT the EA. Now I'm worried that something has gone wrong. Any info to help me out?

Welcome and congrats because you have it the easiest out of anyone. Your standard edition(SE) or collector's edition(CE) will come with exactly what you see here.

If you pre-ordered the game then you also receive a Moogle Hat and Cait Sith minion(in-game bonus items) as well as 3 day early access. The bonus items are sent to the account when you register a code and the code is valid until the end of the year. The early access is also activated on your account through your registration code for PC users or a promotional code for PS3 players. Follow the instructions you should receive(if you haven't already) in an email from Square Enix.


It could be worth noting here that PSN purchases have the early access and items included in the download (or however it works) and that no e-mail with an early access code will be sent. That should prevent some panicking.

Looks about right to me. The first step, registering with SE is necessary. But if for some reason you get stuck at the PSN code part because they sent you a code from the wrong region, there's a pretty good chance that you'll be ok with the phase 4 client that you already have. Don't delete it.

I assumed that's how it would work. I'm also on PC so I was afraid that ordering from the psn would prevent me from playing with my original PC account or something dumb like that. :P Thanks.

I'm legacy and had the CE of 1.0 and also was in all phases of beta, now according to the info, I will be able to download the client for free, assuming the client is the same as beta 4 since it doesnt say beta. But I have not received any info or new codes. Anything I am missing?

The client for the phase 4 is the actual client, you will not need anything else.

I don't think they've given any new info about whether or not the phase 4 client will work, but the best bet is probably to keep an eye on their twitter feed. You can find it here. It's not very detailed information due to the character count limit, but it gets the job done.

My guess is that the phase 4 client is no different than the early access and launch client. The last update to their twitter feed is that the character progress from phase 4 will carry over to launch so other than removing the level cap restriction, the patch to address 3102 and 90000 errors and other minor things like bonus item delivery; it's not going to change much.

Thanks for the great post you should work for SE. A quick question. How do you get the client as a legacy member, or is the beta phase 4 client just updated at a later date?

I just went to the website you linked... put in my SE account stuff and when it all came up it was an email i didnt know saying i was a female and from the UK... WTF have they done??? if this screws with my account ive currently been playing the mess out of SE owes me big time... why cant they get anything right other than there games???? they absolutely suck at bill and accounts!

I would just keep your eyes peeled. We're still a few days out and they obviously still have some work to do making sure they can avoid the issues they had in phase 4 of beta. I would hope they would just send out an email with a link to download it via Square Enix ID, but at the very least I would watch their twitter feed. It's linked in my previous post in this thread.

I guess I should have included a disclaimer in the original post, but there is a long thread on the official forums saying that the pre-order code website was working. I myself am not actually taking part in the early access, just trying to help out people who are lost and confused.

I would say just to keep trying. I read several reports of people getting EU codes instead of NA codes, but I haven't seen the fix for it yet. Some people are getting straight in, some people are getting 'Bad Gateway' errors and all types of different error codes. I'm sure SE's customer support chat and phone lines are pretty busy. Keep hammering away though. We're still a few days out so it's not quite tarutaru /panic time yet.

Not quiet what i was getting at my friend... i created this account some time ago... I am not a female i am a male im not from the UK nor have i ever put that down anywhere at all in my account... And to top all of it off my email is completely something different than what my email really is... Where did they get this false info? and is my code going to whomever wewatchyouwatchtv@yahoo.com is? that might not even have a game at all? Hell the only thing they could get right was my birthdate... and this was all supposed to be saved information from i dont know 13 years ago or so...

Yep. I called as soon as they opened and I'm still on hold. Going on 2 hours and 26 minutes. Insanity.

I just want to update you that I went ahead and pre-ordered and I did get both the pre-order benefits and 1.0 CE benefits.

Since im not planning on being around this weekend does it really even matter if I register my code? all I really give to turds about is my items (mount,helm,etc..) can I put it in later elsewhere for these?

I would. I talked to a customer service agent at Square today (after waiting on hold for almost 3 hours, I figured I'd go ahead and ask him a bunch of questions) and he said with the way things have been so hectic that it is best to do everything as soon as possible, because with all the server problems he would hate to tell me it is okay to wait it out and then more craziness happen and me not be able to register. When I went to register my pre-order code, it literally took less than 2 minutes. You just put in the code, hit next, and BAM.

Sorry, I've been in and out all day. According to the official website the item redemption is good through 31 December 2013.

As for your issue, I was hoping that if you kept trying it would eventually work. I know how bad it sucks to be on SE phone support so I always think of that as a last ditch response. Maybe give it a day and try again. With the amount of complaints coming in SE should have some sort of update on the situation...at some point... where are you SE? Smiley: frown

Definiately not deleting it, but won't it get overwritten if I download the client software as per instruction? Ug.

Says my code is wrong or no longer valid. Grrrr. /cry

I got the 12 digit code. Screen shot it, printed it out. Went to ps3, input the 12 digit code first in Account Management - it said it was not a valid code and that it might have expired. So... I went to Playstation Store - which said it needed to update itself. Waited for that, then went to redeem code and then entered it and was told again that the code either expired or wasn't valid.
I then went back to the pc preorder input site, and again I got the same 12 digit code.

No email ever came. Oh and I was in p4. So. I am going to put in a ticket and give them my 18 digit code and my 12 digit code.

im getting worried. my ps3 client is installed and ready to go. but how will i register the game? my game from amazon wont be here till estimate deliver sept 5 - sept 8? dont i need to put in my game code to link my pc and ps3 account? how am i gonna play EA if amazon hasnt sent me the game code? i how am i gonan put the code on mySE management account if i dont have it? i already have a 1.0 account. i just pre ordered the ps3 CE for the goodies and incase something ever happened to my pc i can play on ps3.
