This thread is very helpful, thanks. I'd rate you all up if I could. I suppose I'll just keep trying on/off today.

If I try more than once, it just goes straight to "there is a problem..." doesn't even seem like it's trying after the initial "confirm" click

Misdirected that Meteor spell, eh? Smiley: smile

I definitely advise everyone layoff the button for awhile and try again later. You'll be hunky-dory eventually. :)

same boat as you tera, i even got the "this code is invalid" error message, that one made me despair a bit before i read Vaaniks posts XD

Mine did the same... though I've been in the beta for several phases and bought 1.0 though I didn't pay enough to get legacy status. I didn't have the game listed on my square account at all, but it is/was listed on my square management system.... I got my ps3 EA code this morning and kept getting 'there was a problem'.

I kept trying every few hours and even though I keep getting the error I now have the game listed as being registered on 8/20 but for PC and not PS3 like it should be.

hopefully it all works out and I can put it on my 1.0 account. Square makes their game/account management like the Japanese like their rpgs.... ridiculously hard and confusing.

I got the error but after a few minutes I got an email from Square thanking me for registering my code and gave me a second code as well as a link to log in.

I got this email as well for the PS3. Now when I enter the 12 digit code to the PSN I get this message:

"This PlayStation Network Card number has already been used. Please check your entry."

mine shows pc version now, not ps3, and I got no email after it showed up...... one big sigh.

It's only pre-order registration code beta guys. No cause for concern, it's supposed to break. It's just stress testing Smiley: sly

Hello all,

We've confirmed a high volume of traffic to the FFXIV Pre-Order Code Redemption website, which likely causes any errors you might have run into. If you receive an error while attempting to redeem your code, please wait and then try again later.
Our internal teams are working hard on this issue, and making every effort to relieve site congestion. As soon as we have any further information, we'll be sure to update you all on our Twitter and through this forum.

I have my big code. I have all check marks for all the boxes. I hit the ps3 button and when i go to register it. The only message i get is error 3. there was a problem try again later. What does that mean? over loaded server or what? would love some help here. Kind of freaking out.

Hard way: through Square Enix customer support.

Easier way: Invent and build a time machine and go retry from the past. Repeat until desired outcome.

You have a preoder code and you register it and they send you another code? what is the code they send you for? Just to download the game for the ps3?

I think the code he got sent was the actual code you can activate.

It appears their method is you use the code you got from whoever you bought the game from to get the actual code from their (now overloaded) key system.

I think I might just actually wait a day or so to try my code again, hopefully they'll have it all worked out by then.

That's probably your best bet, bud. I plan on doing the same as well. I'll try in the morning when I wake up. If it still doesn't work I'll just try again Thursday.

I was able to get the website open that shows the 6336 code format this morning. Unfortunately although it lets me enter the code and submit it repeatedly shows "working please wait" followed shortly thereafter by "error there was a problem please try again later:.

This is disconcerting in that they should have easily been able to project their bandwidth needs from the actual presales and / or projections. I decided to give this sub game a try based on my experience way back with ff 1 and 2. In addition I have become very disillusioned with the MMO genre shift to f2p micro transcation models. Already I am worried that this is yet another company not to worried about the user experience. Has this been your experience with SE?

SE has made a great game in FFXIV: ARR. SE has made some silly oversights in regard to the popularity of their great game in the handling of the stuff that leads up to playing said great game.

I used to get all crazy about being the first to enter registration and log in, but I've since learned that everything will work out at its proper time. If my EA code gets registered within 30 seconds of them opening the site, or with 30 seconds to go before EA starts, I'm really not missing anything.

This is what I think will happen if they can't figure out this EA registration. They will let everyone in from Open Beta participate in EA. This will cause an uproar, but it's the only fair way to handle it.

It would certainly not make those who preordered feel they got their full value. SE should at that point give all preorders the first month free. In all likelihood what they would do is offer up a few more in game freebies.
