Starting City by Class - Guild LocationsFollow

#1 Aug 15 2013 at 11:48 AM Rating: Excellent
Limsa Lominsa:
Maurader
Arcanist

Armorer's Guild
Blacksmithing Guild
Culinarian's Guild
Fisherman's Guild

Ul'dah:
Gladiator
Pugilist
Thaumaturge

Alchemist's Guild
Goldsmith's Guild
Weaver's Guild
Miner's Guild

Gridania:
Lancer
Archer
Conjurer

Carpenter's Guild
Leatherworking Guild
Botanist's Guild

--------

From what we have seen up to this point, you will need to level up to 10 on your Starting Class to be able to change Classes for the first time. You will also have to travel to the Guild of your new class and complete a Class Quest there. Sometimes this requires that you travel to another town to get to the Guild you want to join. The Class Guilds are in the respective cites as listed above.

After you complete the Class Quest, you can now switch between any of your unlocked classes simply by changing weapons.

EDIT: Below is a list of Advanced Jobs and which of the Base Classes you would start as. This is not something that you will need to be concerned with until you have at least reached Level 30 in your Base Class.

Advanced Jobs:

Limsa Lominsa:
Maurader ---> Warrior
Arcanist ----> Summoner & Scholar

Ul'dah:
Gladiator ----> Paladin
Pugilist -----> Monk
Thaumaturge ----> Black Mage

Gridania:
Lancer -----> Dragoon
Archer -----> Bard
Conjurer ------> White Mage

EDIT: While gathering this info I found this Starter's Guide and it is awesome!

You've listed jobs, not classes. Nitpicking I know, but the number of "what is the difference between job & class" threads are going to explode now launch is almost here. Any sort of help guide needs correct terminology (unless you mean to feed trolls etc... Smiley: sly)

I suppose I can take the Advanced Jobs off of the list to make this clearer. The Classes are listed first.

Thanks for the info! I've been meaning to track that down, and I appreciate you saving me the time.

Can you also edit it in to include eventual crafting and gathering job guild locations?

This is a great idea. I'll go track that down.

I think they're just called jobs. Not advanced jobs.

That's a valid point. Looks like I'm going to be expanding and editing this beyond it's original intent.

EDIT: Some other sites are also calling them Advanced Jobs. I hope that term sticks because it really emphasizes that you don't need to worry about it at first. I recall even Yoshida stated these jobs will not be a critical party of parties until the End Game events. That's an Advanced Job if I ever saw one.

That starter's guide you linked is a godsend. So many answers to the mass amounts of questions I had.

You deserve a beer for that one.

Hey thanks. That guide is just incredible. Covers everything you need to do up to level 30, every step of the way, with guides and maps and on-and-on. Here's one of my favorite tidbits:

Quote:
The basics: Level 1 – 15: First of all you’re going to want to read our General Leveling guide. On your first login, try to reach Level 10 Story Quest. Why? Because that’s around the time you unlock Levequests. Long story short, you gain 3 ‘Leve Allowances’ every 12 hours, and they’re pretty useful for leveling up. They even add up while the server is down! You also unlock the ability to get other classes, but now isn’t the right time for that.

Summary: Get to Level 10 so your LeveQuest timer can start accruing (You could hold up to 99 accrued levequests in P3.)

I thought I was going to have compile that info myself, but from here on out, that will be the first place I look!

Sounds like they are going to create the whole Base Class Lvl 30 + Secondary lvl 15 Class = Advanced Job (Using Subclass # and Subclass#2 cross-class abilities) Chart as soon as all the info is verified. That will be redistributed all over the place fairly quickly I'm sure.

Since the servers won't be getting wiped again, we'll all have a massive amount of Leve Allowances by the time early access rolls around. Even more by the time the game actually releases. I think I'll probably end up saving all of mine until I really find myself needing a boost in EXP.

I am unbelievably pumped for this game. It needs to just hurry up and release already. =/

I really hope everyone is cautious about this. Losing a couple of days of progress is not a big deal in the big picture. I'm afraid if people feel cheated it's going to be a bad way to start their FFXIV:ARR experience.

I totally agree about the Leve allowances piling up during the pre-launch downtime. What a great tip!

Yup - DoL levespam come early access here! Will hopefully get most of my LNC/DRG needs out of the way this weekend (12 CNJ for cure/prot/raise, 20 LNC for airship, GC + chocobo, 4/6 other stuff for nice cross-class abilities. 15 PGL & MRD if I get the time ... unlikely though Smiley: lol)
