It will be a fresh server.

I've gone ahead and updated the OP again. If you aren't sure of your name, or if your name changes from the list, please make a new post in this thread so that I can properly update it. If you just edit your post that's already here, I won't see it. Thanks!

If its a fresh server, count me in on your linkshell!

I don't have a name yet, I'll probably level all classes anyway although I plan to level the gathering classes first.

Yes ultros is a fresh server... we look forward to having you ;)

Thayos - Thayos Swiftblade

Planning to level (again): PLD, WAR, BLM, WHM

Also, my wife and a RL friend will be joining me. Neither of them are ZAM forum members, and they haven't chosen their in-game names yet, either.

Not a problem. We'll be making everyone able to invite people to the shell, so you can just invite them whenever.

Thanks BartelX for getting us organized! I know in your OP you had a disclaimer about not being the leader of the shell (which I think is fine, we can all manage it together) but just know that your efforts in getting this all coordinated are appreciated!

See you guys on the 16th/17th!

Who is the leader? If Mikhalia were still here he'd do a poll.

Rather than have a leader, I think all we need are individuals to step forward to lead certain events and activities. Most gamers don't have the time we once did to pour into gaming... I think the concept of ls leadership could evolve accordingly.

That's the way we do it in LWDF, everyone is responsible for leading what they want to get done. Works pretty well.

This is pretty much the structure I was thinking of. I'd be more than happy to help out with setting up events and what not, and I'd very much encourage anyone else whose interested to do the same.

Once we get rolling, I have a feeling some leaders will emerge, as well.

For example, I'm incredibly busy with work during the day, and I'm often busy in the early evening... but I don't have kids, so I am pretty flexible to carve out time at night. So, one of the things I'd be interested in would be a late-night static (and I'm PST, so that would be really late) for dungeons/primals/etc. When the time times, I'd probably be very interested in leading that group!

My personal feeling about linkshells is that a linkshell with a strong, active core is ultimately more enjoyable (and lasts longer) than a ls ran by one dude. We already have a great head-start on having an active core, because we're bonded through the ZAM community.

Yeah, I never meshed well with the one leader/hardcore/on a schedule LS. I'm more of a casual LS kinda guy, there for the chat, to answer questions, help out and have fun.

During the week if I'm on I'll probably be on early evenings, maybe until 9-10 PST some nights. Weekends, it depends, as well. :/

The thing I really love about this ZAM LS is the fact that it's going to be more casual and laid back, yet it's going to have enough members to be able to pull from and get stuff going at most times. At least, that's how it seemed to be in phase 3. Don't get me wrong, I completely plan on doing as much of the "hardcore" content as I can in XIV, but I'm excited at the opportunity to be able to do it with a lot of people on this forum. I have a bunch of friends who are planning to join us on Ultros as well, so it will be really incredible to have such a large pool of players to work with for content.

Slight change for me...

With the news of the world transfer service happening within a few weeks of launch, I'm going to start the game on my 1.0 character on Excalibur, and then move to Ultros when transfers open up.

My character's name is Thayos Redblade.

And, just to lay this out there now, I'm sorry guys... I barely have any gil, so I can't monopolize the economy on behalf of the linkshell. D:

EDIT: Nvm, a recent dev post makes it appear that Legacy transfers will still be months away. Grrrrr! I would gladly wipe my gil and gear to move my character to Ultros. Oh well.

Seems like I've been old as long as I can remember. I stood in line as a teenager to see the original Star Wars in '77. The line wrapped around the building and down the street. Smiley: lol

I'll spend most of my initial time on my legacy character because of friends who don't want to re-roll, but I'll also be bringing up the new character when they're not on. (I tend to play a lot more than them, which instead of taking as a sign to play less, I'll just have another character.) >.>

I am starting fresh on Ultros. It sucks though, because I worked so hard to complete my 1.0 character's storyline, and I hate having to throw that away in order to play on the server where my community is.

I will probably play a bit on my old character too, but ultimately, I see no point in having two active characters.
